Congratulations to this week’s Better Bristol Lottery winners! 🎉

Every week, members have the chance to win cash prizes, including up to £1,000 in weekly prizes and an annual £10,000 jackpot. But being part of the Better Bristol Lottery is about more than the chance to win.

Every ticket helps support Community of Purpose and the work we do to create opportunities, build confidence and transform the lives and futures of young people across Bristol.

One of our valued members, Kamila, shared why she joined after winning a prize:
“I’m very grateful. This money will support my family financially during this challenging and uncertain time. I joined the scheme as my son was fortunate to take part in a trip to Bordeaux last year as part of the Bristol Together Championships programme. It was a life changing experience. Community of Purpose are an amazing and inspirational team!”

Stories like Kamila’s show the impact of bringing people together. A small monthly contribution from many people creates a steady stream of support that helps us continue providing life-changing experiences and opportunities for young people.

Looking back on the Bristol Young Heroes Awards 2026.

The Awards evening was about celebrating young people, sharing their stories and recognising the incredible things they are achieving across our city.

But the impact goes beyond one evening.

We wanted every finalist, winner, family member, supporter and partner in the room to leave feeling inspired, connected and proud of what is possible. The feedback we received shows just how meaningful that experience was, with a Net Promoter Score of 90 and comments such as:
"Loved the event, was buzzing after the night and felt very positive and hopeful about my future. Thank you."

For us, this is what the Bristol Young Heroes Awards are about: creating a moment where young people feel seen, celebrated and supported, while bringing together the businesses, communities and individuals who believe in their potential.

Behind every story celebrated at BYHA is a young person, a network of support and a community that chooses to invest in the next generation.

Every Bristol Young Hero starts with someone noticing their story. 💜

Someone who sees the challenges they’ve overcome, the difference they’re making, the way they support others or the potential they might not yet recognise in themselves.

The Bristol Young Heroes Awards are about giving those young people a platform, celebrating what they’ve achieved and connecting them with people and opportunities that can continue long after the Awards night, including through programmes such as Purposeful Futures.

That recognition can be the start of something much bigger: greater confidence, new relationships, raised aspirations and a young person beginning to see what could be possible for their future.

As we look towards BYHA 2027, we’re asking Bristol’s schools, organisations, businesses and communities to keep noticing those young people.

If someone has already come to mind, you can tell us about them through our 2027 Pre-Nomination Form. There’s no commitment to nominate at this stage. We’ll simply keep in touch and remind you when official nominations open. 🌟

Because sometimes, one person recognising a young person’s potential can open the door to so much more.

Behind every opportunity we create for young people are people and businesses who choose to believe in what it can make possible.

Our Bristol2Bordeaux trip simply wouldn’t happen without that support.

Avent Interiors, Exacta Group, Lancer Scott and Olympian invested in much more than a four-day trip. Their support gave young people from Bristol the opportunity to experience another country, build confidence and independence, form new connections and discover a world beyond the places they already know.

That investment in a young person can stay with them long after they return home.

Wow, what a week! We’re now back from Bordeaux after a few days that gave our young people so much more than a trip abroad. ❤️

They experienced a different culture, formed new friendships, tried things outside their comfort zones and discovered what they’re capable of when given the opportunity to explore somewhere new.

There were plenty of laughs and unforgettable moments along the way, but it’s the confidence, independence and connections they bring home with them that really matter.

Bristol2Bordeaux is about making young people’s worlds a little bigger, raising aspirations and showing them that new places, people and possibilities are there to be explored.

We couldn’t be prouder of how they embraced every part of the experience. What a week! 🇫🇷❤️

Yesterday was one of those days that shows exactly why Bristol2Bordeaux matters!

Our young people saw Bordeaux from a new perspective, played football alongside young people from a French team, experienced art at the Bassins des Lumières and ended the day together around the dinner table.

But the activities are only part of the story.

It’s about experiencing another country, navigating a different culture, finding connections even when you don’t speak the same language, trying something new and growing in confidence along the way.

For many of our young people, opportunities like this open up a world beyond what they already know and help them see that there is so much out there for them to explore.

That’s why we bring young people from Bristol to Bordeaux. Not simply to show them another city, but to make their world a little bigger. ❤️

A brilliant day in Bordeaux! 🇫🇷

Today our young people stepped outside their comfort zones in more ways than one, taking on the challenges at Tepacap before visiting a French school and meeting young people from Bordeaux. 🌳🤝

But Bristol2Bordeaux is about much more than the places we visit. It’s about giving young people opportunities to experience a different culture, build confidence, make new connections and see more of the world beyond their everyday surroundings.

Seeing them embrace new experiences, communicate across languages and throw themselves into every opportunity is exactly what this programme is all about. 💙

Tomorrow, we head to Bordeaux with a group of young people who first came together through our Bristol Together Championships. ❤️🇫🇷

Bristol2Bordeaux is about giving young people the chance to experience something beyond their everyday world, build confidence, broaden their horizons and see what is possible when they are given the right opportunities and support.

For some, this will be their first time travelling abroad. For all of them, it is a chance to grow in independence, strengthen friendships, experience a different culture and return home with greater confidence in themselves and their future.

That is why programmes like this matter. They help young people step outside their comfort zones, raise their aspirations and create memories and relationships that can stay with them long after the trip is over.

We are incredibly grateful to Avent Interiors, Exacta Group, Lancer Scott and Olympian for investing in Bristol’s young people and helping make opportunities like this possible. 💙

Ten years of Community of Purpose. One room filled with so many of the people who helped make it possible. 💜

Last night at Belmont Estate was a chance to celebrate, but more importantly, to say thank you.

Community of Purpose has never been built by one person or one organisation. It has been shaped by young people, schools, businesses, volunteers, suppliers, our team, Board, advisers, families and the people who believed in what we were trying to achieve before there was any proof it would work.

Over ten years, more than 13,000 young people have been part of our journey, alongside 689 businesses, with 402 returning to support us again. But the numbers aren't the story. Behind every one is a relationship, an opportunity, a conversation or someone choosing to step forward.

And through the successes and the difficult moments, that community has continued to show up.

These aren't just our numbers. They're Bristol's. This is our story, but it's yours too.

Thank you to everyone who joined us last night, to Belmont Estate for hosting us, and to every person who has played a part in the last ten years.

We don't know exactly what the next ten will look like. But we do know that when good people, young people and opportunity come together, so much becomes possible.
