I was incredibly lucky to be invited to play the iconic West Course, host venue of the BMW PGA Championship, and the whole experience completely exceeded expectations.

From the hospitality and the facilities to the condition of the golf course itself, it was without doubt the best golfing day I’ve ever experienced.

I even managed to find a little bit of game, getting to three under par through five holes. I lost my way slightly through the middle of the round, but finished strongly and loved every minute of it.

What a week! 💚

We’ve just wrapped up four fantastic days at the South West Ladies Inter-Counties Match Week at Yeovil Golf Club.

Firstly, huge congratulations to Dorset on taking the title this year. They played some outstanding golf all week and thoroughly deserved the win. 👏

Whilst we couldn’t quite make it back-to-back titles this year, I’m incredibly proud of what our Somerset Ladies achieved. To finish as runners-up after four days of competitive golf in some incredibly hot conditions is something every single player should be proud of.

The team spirit, sportsmanship, commitment and determination shown throughout the week was outstanding. Every player fought for every point, supported one another and represented Somerset with real class. As County Coach, that’s all I can ask for.

Today’s match against Gloucestershire summed the week up perfectly. We secured second place with a draw that went all the way to the 18th green… to say my heart rate went through the roof would be an understatement! 😂

Wishing the very best of luck to one of my clients, Jack Cope as he competes in Final Qualifying for The 154th Open Championship this Tuesday at Burnham & Berrow Golf Club.

Jack earned his place in Final Qualifying after an excellent 3-under-par round at Regional Qualifying at Minchinhampton Golf Club, and it’s fantastic to see all of his hard work paying off.

This morning we spent two hours together on the putting green at Saltford Golf Club making our final preparations. It wasn’t about making any major changes, just making sure the key principles were in place, confirming his green reading and slope assessment process, checking the putter was set up perfectly, and sharpening his pace control variance.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Jack on his putting since the end of 2024, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to see his progress. Days like Tuesday are what all the hard work is for, and I’m delighted to see him with the opportunity to play his way into The 154th Open Championship.
