希望小獅子們在這兩天一夜的旅程中，透過遊戲、交流和各種有趣的活動，不但更愛上學習廣東話，也學會了新技能、認識了新朋友，留下許多難忘的回憶！✨

糖黐豆、老師話、收埋佬…… 你地仲記得呢啲遊戲嗎？
以前喺香港教小學，呢啲基本係旅行日、聯歡會必玩的集體遊戲。

嚟到英國可以將一班小朋友聚集埋一齊玩一個又一個經典遊戲，原來真係一幅好難得嘅畫面🥹

有時我哋成日擔心小朋友「唔肯講廣東話」，但其實語言唔一定要「教」先學得到。

當佢地掛住玩、掛住笑、掛住同朋友交流，廣東話就自然融入咗佢地嘅生活。

Sticky Toffee, Simon Says, Hide and Seek… Do you still remember these games? 🥹

When I was teaching in a primary school in Hong Kong, these were the classic group games we would always play on school trips and parties.

After moving to the UK, I never realised how precious it would feel to bring a group of children together and watch them play these childhood classics, one after another. 🥹

We often worry that our children “don’t want to speak Cantonese”, but language doesn’t always have to be “taught”.

When they’re busy playing, laughing and chatting with their friends, Cantonese naturally becomes part of their everyday life. 💛

小朋友喺英國學中文真係好難，佢地呢一刻未必學得最好，但佢地一直都無放棄，家長無放棄，已經比其他人叻好多好多❤️

🇬🇧 在英國，辦一場屬於香港小朋友的中文夏令營。

上年，我地第一次舉辦大型結業活動。活動完結之後，好多家長同我地講：「得一個下午，真係唔夠玩呀！」🥹就係因為呢一句，今年我地決定加碼!!!

由一個下午，
變成一個真正的兩日一夜中文夏令營。⛺️

由籌備到完結，呢兩日一夜有太多難忘嘅時刻 ！
最開心嘅，從來都唔係我地準備咗幾多，而係見到每一位小朋友玩得咁投入、笑得咁開心。

係英國做中文教育，從來都唔容易。沒有自然的中文語境，我地就自己創造語境。小朋友覺得學中文悶，我地就諗辦法令佢變得有趣。

我地更想將一啲屬於我地嘅香港文化、童年回憶同集體情懷，留俾喺英國長大嘅下一代。🇭🇰❤️

多謝每一位小朋友同家長嘅信任、支持同參與，多謝陪我哋一齊瘋狂嘅家庭。令我哋第一次嘅《福爾摩獅》中文夏令營變成一段咁珍貴嘅回憶。

🇬🇧 Creating a Chinese summer camp in the UK, especially for our little Hong Kongers.

Last year, we held our first big end-of-year celebration. Afterwards, so many parents told us, “One afternoon just wasn’t enough!” 🥹

And because of that one comment, we decided to go bigger this year!!!

From one afternoon to a real two-day, one-night Chinese Summer Camp. ⛺️

From the months of preparation to the very last moment of camp, there were simply too many unforgettable memories to count.

But the happiest part was never about how much we had prepared. It was seeing every child completely immersed in the experience, playing, laughing, learning and having the best time together. ❤️

Teaching Chinese in the UK has never been easy. There isn’t always a natural Chinese-speaking environment around our children, so we create one. When learning Chinese feels difficult or boring, we find ways to make it exciting, meaningful and fun.

More than just teaching a language, we also hope to pass on a little piece of Hong Kong, our culture, our childhood memories and that special sense of togetherne

暑假接近尾聲，小獅子中文教室新學年即將正式開始！
新一年我哋繼續提供星期一至六不同程度及類型的中文課程，由啟蒙、基礎、進階，到廣東話、普通話及中文文學課程，讓小朋友按自己嘅程度一步一步學習中文。❤️

目前部分班別已接近滿額，少量班別尚餘少量名額，歡迎新同學加入！

1️⃣廣東話啟蒙班 Beginner Level 1
適合初學中文、希望由基礎開始建立廣東話及中文能力嘅小朋友。

2️⃣廣東話大仔啟蒙班 Beginner Level 1
今個學年特別加開，專為 8歲或以上、未有中文認字經驗嘅小朋友而設。即使較大個先開始學中文，都可以由適合佢哋年齡嘅方式重新建立基礎，唔需要加入低齡小朋友嘅啟蒙班。

Summer is coming to an end, and we’re getting ready to welcome everyone back for another exciting year at Cubbies Chinese Learning Centre!

This year, we continue to offer a wide range of Chinese classes from Monday to Saturday, including Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced levels, as well as Cantonese, Mandarin and Chinese Literature courses. ❤️

1️⃣Cantonese Beginner Level 1
Perfect for young learners who are new to Chinese and ready to start building their Cantonese and Chinese literacy skills from the basics.

2️⃣Cantonese Beginner Level 1 – Older Beginners (NEW!)
A specially designed new class for children aged 8+ with little or no previous Chinese character recognition experience. It allows older beginners to build their Chinese foundations at an age-appropriate pace and learning style.

養咗皮皮之後，我先明白，原來“比較”真係會令人好大壓力。🐶😭
初初養佢嗰陣，我成日上網💻睇人哋點教狗狗。睇得越多，就越容易懷疑自己。😵‍💫

個個都話一開始要籠養，皮皮一入籠就喊到收唔到聲，又亂去廁所。結果當我地決定比多 D 自由佢，佢開心左好多之餘，仲更加願意去合適既地方大小便！

原來皮皮有會自己嘅性格同節奏。即使上網個個都話係正確既方法，都未必適合所有小狗。

其實小朋友都一樣。🌱📚每個孩子都有自己嘅步伐，唔需要因為見到別人嘅進度就覺得自己落後。👣

教育唔係比較邊個行得快，而係陪孩子搵到最適合佢嘅路。🧡

After getting Pippi, I finally understood how much pressure comparison can create. 🐶😭
When I first got Pei Pei, I was constantly looking online 👀 for advice on how to train a dog. The more I saw, the more I started doubting myself. 😵‍💫
Eventually, I realised that Pei Pei has her own personality and her own pace.
And honestly, it’s the same with children. 🌱📚
Just because you see other children reaching certain milestones doesn’t mean your child is falling behind. 👣
Education isn’t about seeing who gets there first. It’s about supporting your child and finding the approach that works best for them. 🧡✨

四年前開始小獅子的時候，從來沒想過會有一天擁有自己的小團隊。

過去兩年，小獅子收到超過150封CV，面試過50多位老師，在眾多的應徵者中，我們千挑萬選合適的老師，希望能讓相信小獅子的你們，獲得最好的學習體驗。

小獅子最重視的不只是學歷，而是老師有沒有感染力、熱情，以及令小朋友愛上中文的能力。🦁

今年的教師小聚會，我們一起做陶瓷 🏺、吃下午茶🫖，希望凝聚一班擁有共同理念的老師，希望好好的感謝每一位這一年來用心教學的老師，因為有你們，小獅子才可以繼續成長，才能讓在英國的小孩子繼續學習自己的母語，認識與自己息息相關的文化。🌱

When I started Cubbies four years ago, I never imagined that one day we would have our own amazing teaching team. 🦁

Over the past two years, we’ve received more than 150 applications and interviewed over 50 teachers. From so many wonderful candidates, we carefully selected the educators who truly share our vision, because we want every family who trusts Cubbies to enjoy the best possible learning experience.

At Cubbies, we believe great teachers are about more than qualifications. What matters most is their passion, their ability to inspire, and their gift for helping children fall in love with learning Chinese.

At this year’s teacher gathering, we spent time making pottery 🏺 and enjoying afternoon tea 🫖 together. It was a wonderful opportunity to thank every teacher for their dedication and hard work over the past year, while bringing together a team that shares the same values and passion for teaching.

Because of them , Cubbies continues to grow, giving children across the UK the opportunity to learn their heritage language and build a meaningful connection with their culture. 🌱

小朋友明明聽得明廣東話，但成日都淨係用英文答！到底點先肯開口講？😭

好多家長都期望小朋友上幾堂就可以流利對答，但對雙語家庭嚟講，語言學習從來都唔係一蹴而就。

對雙語小朋友而言，語言發展通常都係先理解 ，再開口，最後慢慢建立閱讀能力。 呢個過程需要時間，更需要持續嘅語言環境同鼓勵。🫡

過去一年，呢班小朋友透過故事、遊戲、歌曲同生活化互動，一步一步累積廣東話能力。

今日，佢哋已經開始認讀簡單嘅中文字，亦願意主動開口講廣東話。🦁

“My child understands Cantonese... but always replies in English! How can I get them to speak?” 😭

This is one of the questions I hear most often from bilingual families.

Many parents hope their child will become conversational after just a few lessons. But for bilingual children, language learning is a journey, it doesn’t happen overnight.

For most bilingual children, language development follows a natural progression: first they understand, then they begin to speak, and finally they develop the ability to read. This takes time, consistency, and lots of encouragement. 🫡

Over the past year, these little learners have built their Cantonese through stories, games, songs and meaningful, everyday interactions.

Today, they’re beginning to recognise simple Chinese characters and, more importantly, they’re becoming confident enough to speak Cantonese. 🦁

Every child learns at their own pace. With consistent exposure, the right guidance, and a supportive environment, bilingual children can grow to love speaking Cantonese while gradually building strong reading skills.
