🧠 Zones of Regulation: A Simple Guide for Kids & Parents.

The Zones of Regulation is a framework that helps kids (and adults!) recognize and manage their emotions. It's broken down into 4 color-coded "zones":

🔵 Blue Zone – Sad, tired, sick, or bored
🟢 Green Zone – Calm, focused, and ready to learn
🟡 Yellow Zone – Frustrated, silly, worried, or excited
🔴 Red Zone – Angry, out of control, or overwhelmed (we also have positive red zone feelings like overjoyed)

💡 The goal isn’t to stay in the Green Zone all the time—but to recognize how you feel and learn tools to help regulate your emotions.

It’s okay to feel every color. What matters is knowing how to handle it. 💙💚💛❤️

This week 3AmB have been exploring reversible and irreversible changes to materials.

We created our own volcanoes and use a mixture of vinegar and bicarbonate of Soda to create a foaming reaction and completed the classic Coca cola and Mentos experiment.

2JB have been making fruit kebabs in food tech, they cut up the fruit independently and successfully stacked them and gobbled them up!

⭐Wellbeing Wednesdays⭐

Students are going through tasters this month for what they would like to choose for Wellbeing Wednesdays. A time where the students can pick a subject they want to engage with for a term. Some choices include: Bikes, Outdoor Education, Careers, Dance, Gardening, Lego and plenty more!

🎒 GCSE Results Day 2024!🎒

Pupils at Soundwell Academy have much to celebrate their results today. For the first set of exams results, all pupils achieved the qualifications to enter their nexts steps in education.

Headteacher Craig Abbs said - I am very proud of the positive spirit that the pupils have brought to Year 11 and their exams. All the pupils had different starting points and had differing amounts of time at Soundwell Academy and their achievements speaks volumes of their effort and perseverance. I wish every one of them success for the future and I am sure that their time at Soundwell Academy has prepared them well for their next steps.

As we draw 2023-2024 school year to a close, it's been a year full of exams, performances, college visits, community trips, library outings, swimming lessons to name a few. Enjoy the summer holidays and see you in September!
