💥 Dale Chihuly is an American artist whose pioneering work in glass has transformed the medium into a vehicle for large-scale, immersive artistic expression. Founded by Chihuly in 1971, Pilchuck Glass School became an important meeting place for diverse artistic traditions, bringing together glass artists and designers from across Europe and fostering an experimental, collaborative environment that influenced the development of contemporary glass art.
Chihuly’s art can be found and experienced around the world, with his installations exhibited in major museums and public spaces internationally, reaching millions of people. In Seattle, he created Chihuly Garden and Glass, an immersive museum and garden that brings together his vibrant artworks with plants and natural surroundings, creating an environment in which art, nature and architecture exist in dialogue.
🎨Across glass, drawing, painting and printmaking, Chihuly’s practice demonstrates a sustained exploration of colour, form and movement.
