Due to the very exciting expansion of our Nursery and Preschool, we are looking to recruit a passionate, enthusiastic and child-centred practitioner to join the Baker Street family.

Our Yate setting recently opened in September 2022 and has proven a huge success with our children and families. Due to the high demand in the new year we are looking to recruit a full time nursery practitioner.
At Baker Street, one of our visions is to have valued staff who are at the core of all that we do within the setting. We push staff to reach their full potential and value them as outstanding professionals.

🍑🍑 🍑 Welcome to Peach Room 🍑 🍑 🍑

Our super cosy Peach room is primarily for our babies aged 3 months to 2 years old. The space is designed to provide children with a safe, calm and warm environment where they feel secure and cared for. With direct access to the garden, our little ones are free to move from the play rooms into the garden and back again. Our large garden has a dedicated, enclosed baby area where our babies have the space to test their developing gross motor skills: crawling, walking and running. Also, with an outdoor sand and mud pit, our little ones are free to immerse theirselves in large sensory play.

Babies explore with their senses, using their whole bodies, so the resources, activities and experiences we plan for in Peach room support and encourage children’s strong exploratory impulses. In our messy room, you will find paint, water, sand, shaving foam, bubbles, lentils, pasta, porridge oats, shredded wheat, fruit, vegetables and many other exciting (and edible) resources.

In our Peach room we adopt a no-shoes rule keeping the floor clean and safe for even our youngest children to shuffle, crawl and explore around. The furniture we have chosen for the room is designed to encourage babies to pull themselves up, cruise around the furniture and to take safe and calculated risks. We love cheering the children on when they find their feet and start taking those very precious first steps!

Even at these very early stages of development, we encourage children to be independent and to persevere when challenges arise. We give children choices and respect their decisions; empowering all of our children to have confidence in their own thoughts and feelings and to feel respected and valued.

To support the very early communication and language development, we spend lots of time talking, reading and singing with our babies. We utilise Makaton throughout the room and offer quiet and cosy areas so that the little ones feel confident to explore and test their developing communication skills. We send home key Makaton signs weekly for families to practise at home.

Wow, what an incredible day we had yesterday. A big thank you to all the families and local nurseries who came to share this very exciting day with us.

It was so lovely to meet some of our potential new children and hear all your lovely feedback about the nursery. It was clear that our incredible open garden was the show stopper!

We are so glad that you love it as much as we do!!!

We politely ask families not to park on the nursery drive or on the main road outside of the nursery. There is a small free carpark opposite the nursery on Longs Drive. Alternatively, there is ample of street parking on Longs Drive and Moorland Road and a bus stop directly outside.
