Tutoring with Lisa

I’ve had a lovely summer watching the juvenile peregrines along the Gorge but now my thoughts turn towards the autumn. I wish all my past and current students a great first week back to school and I will be especially thinking of those who are starting a new school.

It’s always lovely to receive positive comments after my students’ parents have attended parents evening…

😀 One reception teacher noticed how one of my students was really starting to segment their sounds to write words (something we have been really focusing on.)

😃 A parent of a year 6 pupil told me their child was now working at exceeding for maths (absolutely delighted!)

Busy making place value charts to go with my tenths, hundredths and thousandths counters that have just arrived.
I find that using concrete resources makes the teaching of many maths concepts much easier.

Most of my students know that I am a keen wildlife photographer so I thought I would share an owl I photographed during the summer holidays.
