Happy 30th Birthday Green Door!

Last week we had lots of fun celebrating the nurseries 30th birthday! Throughout the week, we invited our parents to join us for a birthday tea party to celebrate the special occasion with together.

To prepare for our tea party, we got busy baking some delicious treats to share and created some lovely decorations to get the garden ready.

We had lots of fun singing, dancing and exploring our favourite activities with our friends and families. Thank you to everyone who was able to join us!

Last week, we had a great time celebrating the world of stories for World Book Day! Throughout the week, we dressed up as our favourite characters and explored activities related to the stories we love.

Exploring stories with young children is a great way to support their language development and help them understand the world around them. Stories provide children with a safe space to explore new concepts, such as their emotions and any transitions they may experience.

This week at The Green Door Nursery we have been having lots of festive fun!
Our babies and toddlers have been busy exploring lots of sensory provocations. We have been making reindeer soup to prepare Rudolph for his long journey around the world, painting snowmen and exploring materials such as baubles and tinsel in play.
Our older children have been practising their fine motor skills, using scissors to help Santa cut his beard and cutting out different shapes to create a big Christmas tree collage!

We have begun exploring the festive season this week at The Green Door Nursery!

Our older Children have been busy decorating the nursery, and putting up our Christmas tree. The children explored lots of different shapes and colours while choosing which baubles and coloured tinsel to decorate the tree with.

In the baby room, we have been creating our own trees using a range of sensory materials. We've had lots of fun exploring a wide range of textures within our play.

This week we have been celebrating Bonfire Night! The children have been sharing their experiences of watching fireworks with their friends; sharing the colours, sounds and shapes they have seen.

We have enjoyed exploring activities throughout the week, exploring bonfires made from sensory materials, creating our own firework pictures and also using bubblewrap to recreate the noise of fireworks while making art!

On Friday we celebrated the festival of Diwali at nursery. The children explored the different customs and traditions of the Festival of Light.
Our younger children enjoyed exploring Rangolis, making patterns using bright colours and our older children created their own Diya lamps out of clay!

This week we have had lots of fun celebrating Halloween! The children have had lots of opportunities to create Halloween-themed art, explore the sensory aspects of pumpkins and make spooky potions!
We had lots of fun dressing up throughout the week and ended our Halloween celebration with a dressing-up party!

We have all been having such fun exploring tools and the new resources throughout our Forest sessions at the Nursery🤩

Teaching the children about Red nose day at the Nursery today! Exploring the colour red within our activities, wearing funny things on our noses and the importance of always being kind and helping one another 🥳🤩

We have had so much fun this week celebrating the Nursery's 28th Birthday! We have danced through the week with lots of party games and tea parties. We are so proud of all that we have achieved over these years, including our recent OFSTED report https://reports.ofsted.gov.uk/provider/16/107083

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to us and a huge thank you to the children, parents and staff for all joining in our celebrations 😍🤩🥳 The staff enjoyed a chocolate cake that went too fast to take any pictures 😅

🐰🐜🐻 Our topic this February is 'Amazing animals'.🐰🐜🐻

We have been learning all about the different animals all across the world and the wonderful things that they do. Today we were so lucky to have a visit from A Vet! They even brought some bunnies🐰!

We all got to learn about what a vet does, how they dress, and how they provide such wonderful care to our pets when they need it! We all got to pet the bunnies and watch them hopping around Pre-school 🤩
