My Klein Bottle was a birthday present.
It was 3D printed

With this weird weather, I hope all my A level students have a few minutes to get outside (in the sun?) this weekend, before the last push next week. Most students finish on 18th June this year - a bit earlier than normal. I have everything crossed for you! 🤞

I've just posted a YouTube video on reading Vernier and Micrometer scales and other Practical Physics.

To answer this A level Physics question you need to make estimates of values.
What is the mass of a baby in kg? Let's guess 10kg
How much is the spring stretching? Let's guess 20cm, 0.2m (The doorframe is approx 2m tall)

Then you need to use Hooke's law, F=ke and the weight equation, W=mg

mg=ke so k=mg/e=10×10/0.2= 500N/m answer C

Estimate questions like this are more important than they appear. If you know the approximate size for physical values, you can do a 'reasonableness' check on ALL your numerical answers. This is a powerful way of checking you've not made a calculator typo, or that you've divided instead of multiplied.

So from now on, notice the typical sizes of the numbers in questions.

One of my birthday presents was this little model of Grace, made from xenenite, by Rocky, the alien in "Project Hail Mary".
Andy Wier also wrote "The Martian" and "Artemis". All his books are well worth a read - when your exams are over! 😎📖🌌

So, yesterday was not only the last day of A level Physics exams, but it was also my 60th birthday!!!

I have been considering what tuition I can offer, going forwards, as I now have a little bit of breathing space, and I'm able once again to take on new 1-1 students.

I've been a bit blown away by anxious Y12 parents already getting in touch so they don't miss out!

I am opening up my Ultimate Titanium package again. If you are interested, please book a free demo by completing the form you will find here:
https://www.42tutoring.co.uk/demo-opt-in

We can do some diagnosis of any issues your Y12 student might have, with a no-obligation chat over zoom.

Last Minute A level Physics Help

😱🫣🥹😇

As you read this, I will be doing my last ever 1-1 sessions with our current Y13 students, prior to their final paper 3 tomorrow. I always tell my students to bring their attempted questions to go through. It is the most powerful thing to do in a 1-1 session.

This video is NOT available on our YouTube channel - so don't miss out on your chance to learn this essential skill:
