As a reminder - The Bristol Commons is a growing movement centred on Community Power, Land Justice & Systemic Change to support communities and community hubs across Bristol.

The theme for the Autumn Gathering this Saturday is “Deepening connections and growing our network”. 🤗

We are inviting you to join in with your head, hearts and hands into a thoroughly creative process where we will together create the stepping stones that will bring about The Bristol Commons Strategic Aims. We will need your vision, ideas and dreams to help create an inspiring movement that fosters community connection and systemic change.

Manifesto Feed-in:🥳
There will be a chance to get involved in offering insight and feedback on the first working draft of our first manifesto - Rebuild the Commons! This is a new phase of the process, and is an opportunity for you to offer reflections that will be woven into the editing process - EVERYONE IS WELCOME!

Strategic Objectives:🌸
There will also be an immersive creative session to explore ways in which we can widen our networks and deepen relationships, to work towards our strategic aims.

Lunch… TWO TREES CATERING UK 🌳🌳https://www.facebook.com/twotreescateringUK-

Dear Friends, I KNOW - it's soooo painful and sooo hard!!!! It's bringing up so much for me to post or know how to act to help STOP the atrocities in Palestine and around the world.

But this internalised oppression we are all inside will stop us standing up and speaking out.

The fear is real, it's in me as I write this. I don't want to have a backlash or be disliked either. I wish it would all go away, but it's not going to and the more we ignore it the more we normalise this horror. I have been colonised like the rest of us, but we have to break free of this brainwashing, this denial.

They want us small and scared. But whats more important than my concern for myself is the horror that is happening to 600,000 children on our earth, murder, r**e, torture, they are burning our children!!!! This is Genocide happening before our eyes. Say it as it is, face it, feel it - the rage is LOVE, use the rage to make change, learn about whats happening and find your voice to name it and fight it.

I don't say this to judge anyone, this is horrendous to have to face it, it is not any of our fault but we can all do something about it. However you can, through art, music, social media, go fund me campaigns.

Use the words below, they stick in my throat too, but saying it is love, saying it stops us being complicit and is fighting to free our Brothers and Sisters and all OUR children from a living hell.

Non of us are Free until all of us are Free.

Be kind and gentle with yourselves, in love and solidarity

*** FINAL SHOUT OUT FOR THE ARTIST’S WAY BEGINNING TONIGHT 1st MAY 7PM - 9PM***

This really is for ANYBODY who feels they want more freedom, flow and connection with their creativity. 🦋

Whether you might already be a ‘practicing artist’ or you’re someone who loves to sing in the shower, this course can only nourish, inspire, and deepen your connection to creativity in the most beautiful ways.

This is not a course in the normal sense it really is a BLOSSOMING! A coming home. Back to your truth, your voice, your true essence.

I have done the Artists Way several times now, I have also gone in and out of creative blocks but each time it deepens, brings more connection, more creative possibility.

This journey is designed to bring magic, acceptance, joy and freedom into your lives. We will guide you through the process with compassion, tenderness and so much love.

If you’re feeling curious, a full body yes or even resistance, don’t wait any longer. Following the longing, the taste of what might be.... Me and Rosina cannot wait to welcome you!

I'm starting to open - to share vulnerably what wants to come through me - I've been longing to do this for years.

So here's a poem that wanted to come through.........

In This Moment.

In this moment I dissolve into water. I am swimming and swirling. I am silk and I am salt. I merge with you.

If you close your eyes, I flirt with your senses, I caress your soft edges. I am both water and I am sky. I die with you in every moment.

Dancing in your ecstasy, in, of and through mine, I remind you of you with no tears left to find. All is seen, released and intertwined.

I am you and you are me. The seaweed and the tall trees. We ebb and flow, we sink, we spin. We are all outside and we are all within.

I am blissfully blind and exponentially kind. I only know to love you, I only want to. I am you and you are me, exquisitely.

I swim and I swirl, I am the leach and I am the pearl. We are all these things combined, always and forever until the end of time.

What to expect! 🤔
A little over a year ago Coexist launched the Bristol Commons by inviting organisations, groups and individuals to come together to explore how we can collectively create a movement for sustainable community prosperity, work more collaboratively, create a culture of reciprocity (not competition) and collectively systemically shift from a city losing vital resources to a city that is rebuilding our commons.

Currently, we are in a situation where our land is being sold off by our council, community hubs, libraries and leisure centres are closing, and people feel disenfranchised and that there is no way to arrest this slide. 😥

💥 BUT WHAT'S EXCITING IS💥...

The Bristol Commons offers an alternative!!! This is because we see the spaces and resources we manage as part of the commons - something that we all collectively share in relationship to each other.

This gathering will have a focus on recommoning our Green Spaces. We’ll be spotlighting some amazing local work and exploring how we can collaborate more effectively to protect these spaces that are vital for physical health, mental well-being, and biodiversity. They are the lungs of our city and they belong to us all!

The invitation is to come and get involved!!! Please spread the word... There will be inspiring speakers, music, workshops, delicious food by the Coexist Community Kitchen, a children's play space and we will be sharing our draft manifesto for all to engage with. EVERYONE is invited!

☀️We are at a really opportune time. In May our council system will change to a committee system where we can have real influence. ☀️

!!!!!!! Crucially we need YOUR input!!!!

You, individually and or your group/organisation are vital to this work. Everybody matters! ❤️

Please let us know who from your organisation is attending or please feel free to come along as an individual.

DM me anytime to discuss details further, I would love to connect and answer any questions you may have.

I hope to see you there! 🙏🏼 🤗

Such love to you...💛💛💛

*** THE ARTIST’S WAY ***

I am soo excited!!! This has been a dream of mine that beginning the 1st May, myself and the amazing Rosina Buck will be holding a beautiful heart-lead journey of THE ARTIST’S WAY.

This transformative twelve-week course is open to twelve people who are ready to commit and open fully to meeting their creative selves. Inspired by the best-selling book THE ARTIST’S WAY by Julia Cameron, this course has been designed for anybody that feels a desire to explore and rediscover their inner creativity.

For some that inner creativity could be getting (back) in touch with their artistic side, while for others it might look like becoming more creative in their day-to-day life.

The course explores and seeks to overcome what it is that blocks the full expression of our creativity and playfulness.

In a supportive on-line environment, we will get curious and explore the effective and liberating process of working with different practices to unlock our inner artist and connect back into our inner child’s dreams.

This course will act as a road map to reclaiming your creativity. Each week we will guide you through tasks and practices, offering fresh ideas to help you to re-connect to the authentic artist in you.

“You do not have to learn how to be more creative; instead, you need to free your natural creativity” ~ In other words, our creativity can be blocked, and also unlocked.

Do you want to:
✨ Explore how your life can be your art
✨ Engage sensitively with the creativity of your inner child
✨ Invite more playfulness into your daily life
✨ Learn to acknowledge, share, and celebrate your creative achievements and those of others
✨ Explore ways to dissolve blocks to self-expression
✨ Adopt new practices to support your creative journey
✨ Understand what motivates and inspires your creative muse!
✨ Be in charge of your own process and support others through theirs
✨ Invite more awe and wonder into your life
✨ Remember the truth of who you really are and how your life and your creativity is of great value and worth
✨ Have some fun and be surprised by your own blossoming
✨ Open your heart to more magic

WHEN: 1st MAY - 24th JULY

WHERE: online ZOOM calls & private Facebook group for sharing our process.

Anyone lost a black cat in St Andrews, Gloucester Road area? This cherub is visiting us at moment. Won’t leave and is clearly needing TLC. He’s very skinny, older cat, blurred vision and slightly deaf and wheezing. I have fed and watered him and he’s got a warm bed under the radiator which he loves. So will take to vets tomorrow. Wait four days. If he’s ok and has no micro chip and no claims will talk to cat rescue about rejoining options. DM me if you recognise him. I think it’s a him?!? 😳
