Most people think better movement comes from getting stronger.

Not necessarily.

The real question is:

πŸ‘‰ Can you control your movement effectively?

Kinetic Control focuses on how your body moves, not just how much force it can produce.

Better control can lead to:
βœ” Better performance
βœ” Reduced injury risk
βœ” Improved movement efficiency
βœ” Greater confidence in daily life and sport

At Comera Movement Science, we help people understand how they move and identify opportunities to move better.

Because better movement changes everything.

Female Performance Course: Recovery Strategies 26/03/2026

We have new stuff: here's the latest in The Female Performance course series

Female Performance Course: Recovery Strategies With its focus on recovery and adaptation, this module is a key pillar of the Female Performance Course series and is essential for anyone seeking to optimise female athletic performance.

02/03/2026

The Science of Teaching Movement Podcast: Strength and Power with Shapesmith and Jeannette Hoftijzer.

Offering a deeper dive around the new module in The Female Performance Course series, our three guests explore strength and power in the context of working with the performance focused female.

Force production within varying time constraints has become increasingly recognised as fundamental to athletic performance. However, given much of the existing research has been conducted on males, the question arises as to whether the same guidelines display the equivalent outcomes for female athletes? The team from Shapesmith (Dr Matt Hancock and Jack Davies) and coach, clinician, and educator, Jeannette Hotijzer (Jera Movement) explore this question and more. Speaking from the combined experiences of working with athletes and scrutinising the strength metrics and literature, the conversation covers an extensive range of actionable insights.

"Brilliant." "Incredibly Useful." "Thorough." "Immediately Applicable."

"I thoroughly enjoyed the three-day online course. Pablo was a brilliant teacher and educator who helped us learn through problem-solving, collaborative discussion, diagrams, and manageable, bite-sized pieces of content taken from the course manual. He always provided practical examples to consolidate each key point.

The videos and demonstrations of tests and exercises were incredibly useful, helping me directly relate the course material to real patient treatment. Overall, a complex and thorough assessment method was delivered in a way that felt structured, relatable, and immediately applicable. Everything was explained clearly and summarised effectively, giving me the confidence to assess and treat patients straight away.

The online format was especially important for me, allowing me to attend while still being at home with a young family. It was absolutely worth every penny.

If I was asked if there was anything to improve the course, I cant really think of anything, at I push I can only think of perhaps adding 1 or 2 β€˜case studies, videos of assessments broken down where we have to β€˜spot’ and diagnose movement impairments and so practice under teacher supervision." Kate Parsons (nee Stobart) BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy MCSP, HPCP, KCMT, AACP
