What a wonderful Friday here at Meadowbrook 🙂

🦋 we watched all five butterfly’s fly away. The children really enjoyed looking closely at the butterfly and how it changed over time, the children asked lots of questions about them, such as what food do they like to eat and where do butterfly live.

🛑 We also enjoyed our hall time today which was focused around road safety week. We spoke about how to stay safe on the roads. We played lots of games such as red light green light.

🌲 and we made the most of our wonderful garden enjoying the sand pit and mud kitchen. We did get very messy with green paint so all the children will need a good bath 😂

See you again Monday.
Please be mindful weather is going to be very hot so can we please apply sun cream, wear hats and appropriate clothing. 😁

Today @ Abacus Stoke Gifford we have;

☀️Learnt all about sun care and how to keep ourselves safe and hydrated in the sun
🦋 Noticed some of our butterflies had hatched out of their cocoons and were keen to see them
🦕 Explored our dinosaur small world
⚽️ Played more football and discussed the different countries in the World Cup
🍓 Enjoyed a yummy refreshing snack this afternoon

A polite reminder we are due hot weather next week, please arrive at preschool with sunscream already applied to your child, ensure they also have a hat, water bottle and spare clothes.

We would like to say a huge thank you to all of the Dad’s and Grandad’s that came to visit us this week!! It was so wonderful to see you all with the children and we know your child absolutely loved having you at preschool. We hope you all have a lovely Father’s Day 💙❤️

We’ve had such a wonderful Thursday here at abacus Stoke Gifford. We had a lovely picnic lunch in the garden for international picnic day.🥪
🌊had lots of fun in the water wall
⚽️watched a replay of yesterdays football game
🎶sang different songs at carpet time
💇🏼‍♀️role played as hairdressers
🐛checked on our caterpillars to see how they are doing, they are still tucked away in their cocoons

On this thrilling Thursday we have:

💙Welcomed some of our dads in for a lovely stay and play this morning
📦 Used GIANT boxes to support our imaginative play - we used so much creativity to come up with different ideas for the boxes. We made boats, buses and even Titanic!
🎶 Sang lots of songs including action songs and used props to practice turn taking, recall and counting
🦋 Painted butterflies, focusing on shape recognition and learning all about symmetry
🌋 Loved exploring our new volcano and tree which has been added to our outdoor small world

M E A D O W B R O O K 😜

We have had lots of fun with the important men in our lives. Who were invited in to celebrate them for ‘fathers day’ 💙

We always love playing football……. Especially as we were celebrating Englands first win of their World Cup 💙⚽️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

We have made potions and tea with the lemon and lime water 🍋 💦🧪 ☕️

We have enjoyed playing in our wonderful sand pit, making castles and lots of digging 🏝️ 🪣

We always love making ‘mud pies and chocolate cakes’ in our mud kitchen 🥧 🧁

We have also explored road safety 🚘 🚴🔴🟠🟢

The temperature and UV is due to rise from tomorrow. Please ensure your child come with sun cream already applied, along with a sun hat. ☀️ 🧢 🥵

Abacus @ Emersons Green

Today was the day to release our butterflies!! 🦋

This children sat and watched Georgina help the butterflies out of their net and help them to fly away. The butterflies really didn’t want to leave us and hung out on Georgina’s hand for long enough for the children to have a good look at them! The children were very sweet and encouraged the butterflies to fly by flapping their arms to show them what to do saying “you can do it!” Eventually two of our butterflies flew away and it was so exciting! We then watched the final butterfly who we named Bud flap his wings on Georgina’s hand, it was amazing to see the colours up close. We decided to put him on some flowers so he could get nectar for energy to fly 🌺
