Woodingdean Kyushindo Judo Club Established over 34 years. We specalise in teaching the non-competitive style of Kyushindo Judo for all ages and abilities from 5 years upwards.

Juniors 7-8pm, Adults 8-9.30pm in Woodingdean Primary School hall, every Friday. No need to book in advance! Suitable for any age and taught at a pace suitable to an individual, it is ideal for promoting fitness and confidence in children and adults alike. We are a friendly club and have taught all levels of ability in and around Brighton and have had many black belts to our credit. Our style is a

lso ideal for older adults who wish to regain a fitness level and remain active when others have possibly given up. As well as Judo, we also teach Tai Ho Jujitsu sessions. Tai Ho Jujitsu was developed in the 1940s and used as a method of self defence and arresting techniques by the Tokyo Police. The skills include Aikido, Judo and some Karate. Our Jujitsu training takes place in the adult sessions only, on alternate weeks with our Judo. We practice every Friday during term time. Our junior judo session is from 7pm to 8pm and our senior session from 8pm to 9:30pm. Charges are currently only £3.50 for juniors and £4.50 for adults.

The school holidays are about to start, but that doesn’t mean the lessons are over! Our Kyushindo Judo Club moves its classes down to Longhill Sports Centre for the summer. The first lesson is free to try it out, you can come along and just observe to see what it’s all about or join in if you’d like. We recommend comfortable clothing like a tracksuit if it’s your first time. New members always welcome!
