The Art rooms have been a hive of activity over the past couple of weeks with Year 11 students sitting their 10 hour Art exams. I wish we could share their work with you but we have to wait until after their grades are awarded over the summer - but I can assure you they will be worth the wait!

In the meantime, here is our Artwork of the week featuring three of our wonderful Y8 students - Djoumana, Sofia and Joe.

Student voice matters.

At Patcham High School, we are encouraging all students to take part in The Big Future, a national survey led by the Children's Commissioner for England.

The survey asks young people about:
Their hopes for the future
The changes they want to see in their communities
The issues that matter most to them
What a good childhood should look like today

With more young people set to be eligible to vote in future elections, this is an important opportunity for children and young people to share their views and help shape future decisions.

The survey is open to all children and young people.

The Big Future Survey

Our Year 10 Citizenship GCSE pupils had an amazing visit to Brighton Law Courts, where they watched real cases and explored the Magistrates’ Court! ⚖️

A fantastic hands-on experience that brought their learning to life and will help them prepare for their exams.

Year 10 students visited the University of Sussex Engineering Department for a full day of workshops. They had the opportunity to see where the Formula Sussex racing team designs, builds, and tests their cars. The students also took part in hands-on activities, including testing metal loads, CAD design, electronics, and using a racing simulator. It was a fantastic day, and we would like to thank the University of Sussex for hosting us!

We wanted to give a huge shoutout to Clare and the parent/carer volunteer team who manage our pre-loved uniform.

They have raised a staggering £1735.40 which goes towards boosting our literacy work across school. We are so grateful to them and to all the families who have contributed.

Our next pre-loved sale will take place on Friday 3rd July (Transition Day).

A group of our Year 9 students embarked on a journey to uncover the endless possibilities of a career in the NHS! Through online webinars and in-school activities, they discovered their strengths and passions, and began to envision a future where they can make a real difference.
