It was wonderful to see so many Patcham High students, families and staff out this weekend at Preston Park parkrun, especially given the heat! What a special community we have. We were so impressed by those running for the first time too.

Thank you to all those who have already contributed or sponsored someone towards our fundraising campaign for new minibuses, we are very grateful. Link in bio if you’re able to help.

We are excited to launch our fundraising campaign to help purchase new school
minibuses, an investment that will benefit students across every year group and enrich school life for years to come.

Our minibuses play a vital role in supporting the many opportunities that take learning beyond the classroom. From sports fixtures, educational visits and music events to Duke of Edinburgh expeditions, enrichment clubs, volunteering projects and university visits, new, modern minibuses will allow more students to participate in experiences that build confidence, independence and aspiration.

To launch our fundraising efforts, we invite students, families, staff and the wider
school community to run, jog or walk to take part in our Sponsored Park Run Weekend at Preston Park. Every step will help us move closer to our goal.
Saturday 20th June: 5K Park Run or Sunday 21st June: 2K Park Run.
(Don't forget to sign up for a barcode through Park Run so you can record your time!)

We are also delighted to open this campaign to the wider community: Local businesses, organisations, former students, friends and supporters will be able to contribute through our crowdfunder webpage, where we will publicly recognise and thank donors for their generosity and support.

If local businesses or individuals are able to make any significant contributions and would like to do this to the school directly for this campaign rather than via the crowdfunder, please contact [email protected].

Please do share - the link is in our bio.
Thank you!

The Art rooms have been a hive of activity over the past couple of weeks with Year 11 students sitting their 10 hour Art exams. I wish we could share their work with you but we have to wait until after their grades are awarded over the summer - but I can assure you they will be worth the wait!

In the meantime, here is our Artwork of the week featuring three of our wonderful Y8 students - Djoumana, Sofia and Joe.

Student voice matters.

At Patcham High School, we are encouraging all students to take part in The Big Future, a national survey led by the Children's Commissioner for England.

The survey asks young people about:
Their hopes for the future
The changes they want to see in their communities
The issues that matter most to them
What a good childhood should look like today

With more young people set to be eligible to vote in future elections, this is an important opportunity for children and young people to share their views and help shape future decisions.

The survey is open to all children and young people.

Complete the survey here: childrenscommissioner.gov.uk/thebigfuture or use the QR code.

Year 10 students visited the University of Sussex Engineering Department for a full day of workshops. They had the opportunity to see where the Formula Sussex racing team designs, builds, and tests their cars. The students also took part in hands-on activities, including testing metal loads, CAD design, electronics, and using a racing simulator. It was a fantastic day, and we would like to thank the University of Sussex for hosting us!
