Uk Kora lessons Welcome.uk koras lessons My name is Jali Mbye. I am a master kora player and griot of the West Afric I am a master kora player and bard of the griot tradition.

I was born in a Griot family from Brikama, in the Gambia, West Africa - The cradle of West African cultural tradition. All my life I have studied the griot heritage of West Africa - First with my own father, Jali Free Mbye. Now I have started a Uk kora lessons project in Brighton, where I have developed educational programmes suited for all ages and abilities. I currently teach kora lessons and in private as well as perform with my band, kora rap all over the UK and internationally.
