General information
“Mindfulness: The ability to be with whatever is, without being overwhelmed or distracted. The maintenance of a calm sense of presence with whatever is happening right now.”
Mindfulness has had a lot of publicity lately. In conjunction with cognitive therapy, it has become widely recognised as one of the most effective approaches to dealing with chronic anxiety, and is recognised by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) as a preferred approach for treating depression.
But the impact of mindfulness goes far beyond this. It is a capacity which enables us to be truly present with ourselves and others – a quality which is of paramount importance to coaches, mentors, facilitators, trainers and leaders.
Ian Mackenzie formed the Presence Partnership with Karyn Prentice to develop the qualities of mindfulness and presence in coaches and business leaders.
Our Vision
To see the experience of presence improving the quality of working relationships and creating the conditions for people to feel seen and valued at work and in their lives.
