Don’t know how to surf? Don’t know how to Swim? Haven’t surfed in ages? No worries!!
Don’t know how to surf?
None of us did when we joined. A majority of our members and most of our committee learned how to surf through surf club on trips. Every trip theres either lessons included or the opportunity to add on lessons or just take a surf board out and mess around. Our President Sam was a Surf Instructor and knows all the tips and tricks to help get you standing and loves a good surf question. Our club is based around surfing in all aspects: the actual sport, the lifestyle, and the mainly the post surf coffee and drinks.
This year we have training sessions every Monday that are drop in for Surf Club members. We will be doing basic surf training via pop ups, core and shoulder stretch, and flexibility. We expect these training sessions to turn into thursday night social debrifs.
Don’t know how to swim?
Swimming is not required to learn how to surf. When you’re learning you’ll mainly be in thigh deep water and all surf instructors in the UK are required to have their beach lifeguard or surf lifesaving qualification as well. Throughout the year if you want to learn how to swim message us and we can try and help! Sam still holds her beach lifeguard qualification so if you’re ever nervous just et her know and she’ll be a little creep keeping her eyes on you.

Membership for Surfing at Sport Brighton is essential to attend any training and any trips 🏄♀️🏄🏄♂️
If you have already paid the deposit or booked onto a trip you MUST buy a membership ASAP to be able to attend this trip! 🚗✈️⛵️
If you plan on coming to any training or other trips throughout the year, please buy a membership by Sunday 12th October! NOT LONG LEFT!

Training is every Monday and will equip you with the skills you need to begin to learn how to surf or to maintain your surfing strength. We will have a lot of fun!

Our rescheduled sea swim is happening this Saturday at 11am! 🏊♀️👙🌊🩱🐟🩳🐠
We will have a quick dip (feel free to sit on the beach instead) and then we will head to Fika for a coffee again! We had a lovely time last week, we can’t wait to go back! ☕️🥐
