Read aloud. Pronunciation. Phonics.
The first reformed GCSE results give MFL departments plenty to reflect on, but one question is particularly important:
Are we building these skills early enough?
Confident reading aloud doesn't start in Year 11.
It comes from what pupils do repeatedly from KS3 onwards: hearing language, spotting sound–spelling patterns, practising pronunciation and gradually building confidence.
Our Building Read Aloud Skills at KS3/4 CPD webinar explores practical ways to make that happen.
And if phonics, listening or dictation are on your department's agenda, we've got practical CPD for those too.
Free CPD. Practical strategies. Designed for MFL teachers.
