A wonderful week of birthdays, art and rain! Christmas has now officially started and we can't wait to share the children's creations with you next week.
For now, please have fun looking at these wonderful, busy little people and all the exciting things they've been getting up to!
I should also add that the amazing birthday cake is sugar free and went down an absolute treat. Thank you to our amazing kitchen and food coordinator, Daria, for making it with the birthday boy!

We have been very busy at Wise Owls. Some of us are learning about space, others are learning about different environments and our youngest children are learning all about bugs and mini beasts.
Here are some of our favourite pictures of our learning so far!

I'm so proud of the work our amazing children have done with the residents of Rose Hill and Brooke Mead. Thank you to our wonderful Anita and Lucy at Equal Arts for making this partnership possible. Please do pop down to Rose Hill Court to see the fantastic works of art on display

Wise Owls is an alternative, creative and forward thinking education setting for under 5’s with space for 35 children. We consider the children’s interests and thoughts as the starting point for much of our planning. We believe that children learn from each other and although the learning environments are differentiated on each floor, children are encouraged to mix and play together.
We are currently looking for a Coordinator to lead one of our friendly and hardworking teams. We are seeking exceptional, professional individuals with the ability to take ownership of the job role. Applicants ideally must have experience of leading a team, be approachable and adaptable.
Applicants must have a level three in childcare or above; experience of working with children aged between 2-3 years; good communication skills with the confidence and ability to liaise with colleagues, children and parents; excellent knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding; practical experience of planning play opportunities, making observations, recording and planning future learning. A good working knowledge of the online learning platform ‘Famly’ is desirable. Applicants need to be approachable, adaptable, organised and motivated.
Applicants with specific interests would be particularly welcome.
Wise Owls is keen to support staff with ongoing learning and professional development. We offer paid holidays and are a Brighton Living Wage Employer. Shift patterns are as follows; 4 full days and 1 half day. We are especially looking for people with organisational skills and an open mind who will complement our wonderful and varied practitioners.
To apply for an application pack, contact Laura Bryson by email: [email protected] or call 01273 232308 for more information.

Come rain or shine, nature club (beach school) will still be going ahead. We have rain suits for all the children, but please make sure they are dressed in warm clothing if they are going out with Cheryl today.

This is my absolute favourite photo from this week! Nothing like stripping off on a hot day and covering yourself in paint :)

Summer is here! Please do expect your child to get wet as there will be lots of water play over the next few weeks! We welcome named swimming costumes, just let a member of staff know that they are in your child's bag :)

Next Friday is Pyjamarama, a chance to raise money to make books accessible for all children. We are welcoming families to take part by sending your child in on this day (7th June) in their pyjamas. Our staff will also be getting in the fun and we will have pyjama themed activities throughout the day. We ask for a donation of £1 per child to go towards booktrust and will put a donation box in the foyer.
Please follow the links in the image for more information.

Just a reminder that there is a special open house event today at rose hill court just off Kingsbury road. They will be showing the collabaritive work the nursery children have been doing with the residents, as well as Anita's own art work. There will be tea, cake and biscuits for you to enjoy! We hope to see you there.
