We provide a holistic range of music and arts education and performance opportunities for children and young people across the region and we also offer curriculum support to our colleagues in schools.

We had a great time at our Holiday, Activity & Food (HAF) courses in Brighton, Bexhill and Newhaven this summer. We spent the summer sharing healthy meals as a group, learning new instruments and making music together, as well as spending a day at a Victorian school at Bexhill Museum and making memory boxes at The De La Warr Pavilion.

Brighton & East Sussex Youth Orchestra and Create Music Youth String Ensemble spent 6 days travelling around France performing. We visited many cities and towns including Troo, Tour, Romorantin and Blois, and had really enthusiastic audiences who showed our pupils a lot of support at all our concerts! We also enjoyed a celebratory group ice cream break outside a Cathedral half way through our trip. We finished off the week with a sold out concert back at Lewes Town Hall where friends and family could celebrate the achievements and milestones of these young talented musicians! We can’t wait to see what the next year holds.

Places are still available for our Holiday, Activity & Food course, 'Get Creative!' in partnership with The De La Warr Pavilion and Bexhill Museum in Bexhill this July!

Come and get creative at De La Warr Pavilion and Bexhill Museum - see behind the scenes at the museum, make some new art and make music together as a group.

Our HAF courses are free for children aged 7-11 receiving benefits related free school meals. There also a limited number of paid places available.

We're coming to the end of our Community Performance's of The Old Woman Who Lived in a Vinegar Bottle. After premiering in Crowborough, our KS1 singing project has toured across Eastbourne, Newhaven, Hastings and Brighton bringing the story to life with 8 incredible performances with one final performance commencing in Lewes next week.

Over 1,000 Key Stage 1 pupils have met the Grumpy Fairy, the Old Woman and her cat Chutney and helped grant every magical wish along the way! A huge thank you to all the schools who joined us in the singing, storytelling and fun.

Our annual Sussex Secondary Music Conference took place on Thursday 18 June. Hosted by University of Sussex, the day was developed by the Lead Schools. We had the wonderful Professor Robin Banerjee give a captivating Keynote about Kindness, Wellbeing and the Power of Music. Alongside that we saw workshops that looked at opportunities for Drumming for Boys in KS3 and support in composing across KS3&4 as well as some practice sharing throughout the day. It was a successful conference with the chance for secondary schools all across Sussex to come together, network and explore how music can influence education within the classroom.

One Voice Festival of Singing 2026 has officially begun! We kicked things off with a half-day CPD launch at Glyndebourne, where teachers from participating schools came together to learn this year’s repertoire. They were joined by our Glyndebourne soloist, Ben, who will be performing alongside the children on stage.

This year’s theme, Sing for Sussex, celebrates the rich diversity, traditions and beautiful landscapes that make our county so special, with songs inspired by the people, places and stories of Sussex.

We’re so excited to welcome schools to our venues across East Sussex and Brighton & Hove this December. Wishing everyone the very best as they start learning the music and Makaton. We can’t wait to hear it all come together.

This joint summer concert will feature musicians from string groups, wind groups, vocal groups, and brass groups, showcasing the incredible young talent from across the region.
