A level Law

We are looking for friendly, experienced and patient tutors!

Bartholomews Tutorial College is an independent 1:1 college which specialises in tailored timetables that work around both tutor and student. We aim to get the best out of our students both personally and academically and have a history of excellent exam results.

We are looking for Sociology and Law tutors to join us for approximately 4 hours per week to start, with the potential for hours to increase as the academic year goes on. The tutor will need to be able to teach the entire A level Syllabus. In terms of expectations, tutors are required to set monthly tests, supervised study and homework, as well as mock exams in the Spring term.

We are looking for a warm, patient and organised individual to join the amazing team at Barts. We would love to hear from anyone who would like to make a real difference to the young people we support.

The College Receptionist is the first person that students, staff and visitors see when they come into the college and is an integral part of the core staff team. We seek a warm, patient and highly organised individual, who is able to manage competing demands whilst remaining calm under pressure. The ideal candidate must want to make a difference to individuals’ lives and, preferably, have experience working with young people.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Arranging prospective student interviews and helping with setting up their timetable
Overseeing the enrolment procedure and requesting references
Assisting with mock and public examinations e.g. organising invigilators and timetables
Room bookings and diary organising
Monitoring, logging and reporting student absence and lateness
Ordering stationary and other office and science equipment
Organising student and staff socials
You may be offered the opportunity of acting as supervisor to one or two students
Administering petty cash and completion of tutor pay claims
Collection and dispatch of monthly reports
Assisting with IT equipment and set up – strong IT skills required
Attend first aid courses in work time, and act as an official first aider

A candidate with a degree and a minimum of grade B/6 in GCSE English an Maths is preferred.

International Youth Day is held on the 12th August and recognises the challenges faced by teenagers and tweens, as well as focusing on their development, protection and place in society regardless of their social status.

International Youth Day first began in 2000 and was organised by the United Nations to celebrate and acknowledge young people and the contribution they make via education, employment, social justice and conflict resolution.

At Barts, we know our young people are going to be part of the change needed for a better and more equal future, and we couldn't be prouder of them for that. So happy International Youth Day! We hope you are able to do something to celebrate yourselves today 🌼 🌈 🍀

We had our globalls social last night and it was a big success!

Its day! With mocks and exams coming up, we really want to encourage our students to talk to their friends, family, or staff members at Barts if they find themselves feeling sad, stressed, anxious or worried. We are always here to listen!

Its our student Christmas social next week and we are very excited about it! Due to the pandemic, we haven't been able to do our traditional ice skating, but here is a throwback to a couple of years ago, the last time we went!
