Mini Adventurers preschool based at Westdene Barn, Brighton

We take children from age 2-5 years following the EYFS curriculum. We are open all year and offer flexible childcare and flexible use of funding. 15 and 30
Hour funding for all ages is accepted here and that can be used term time or stretched all year to suit your needs

Our setting is small and offers and warm, inviting and safe environment for the children to learn, play and build friendships with others. We are inclusive of all cultures and needs offering additional support to those who need it.

At Mini adventurers we pride ourselves on our partnership with parents. All staff communicate back and forth with parents and have built strong and trusting relationships. Not only do we support the children but we are always there for the parents too.

We are currently learning about transportation and occupations. We can’t wait to find out what our little ones dreams and aspirations are as they grow up

This week we have moved on from our jungles theme to explore habitats, birds and pets.

We have some great activities for the children to explore and learn through over the next couple of weeks.

We extend on play from the previous week having observed what the children’s interests have been and how they have been naturally developing their play and ideas

Sometimes this means we add other elements to existing activities and other times means we change the activity altogether

Week one of exploring the Jungle

The last couple of weeks we have been learning about and exploring the ocean. This included lots of fun preschool activities as well as a trip for a few of us to the sea life centre. Our favourite creatures were the sea turtles, sharks and octopus. We have been so inspired by this theme with all of the colours in the ocean that we have started to create a big under the sea mural on the wall which we will continue to add to over the year.

The last couple of weeks our mini adventurers who attend all year have been learning about different types of holidays, exploring the world with maps and a globe, looking at famous landmarks and enjoying our own airport. They were able to learn about how different parts of an airport works and pretended to go on many adventures.
