"Lucy reaches out and communicates with children in a way not everyone can. She can rekindle that passion to learn piano on a low day and jazz up a lesson with a new piece of music of play something herself to inspire. There is no pressure on taking grades and she talked through the pros and cons with Georgia. Georgia decided to start her ABRSM exams and achieving a certificate has given her a real boost of confidence. I have no hesitation in recommending Lucy as I have done with many friends." testimonial by Eve.

"I decided to learn how to play the piano for my 40th birthday and, being a musician already as a guitar player, I wanted to make sure that I learned the technical side of playing while also learning how to read music. Lucy uses the Suzuki method of teaching, which focuses a lot on listening and using your ear to learn while also taking you through carefully chosen pieces that enable you to develop and progress while learning new techniques along the way.

Lucy has a deep understanding of how your brain and body behaves when playing piano and she has this amazing ability to immediately spot the root of what is causing a challenge or stumbling block and clearly explain how to overcome it. There were so many 'A-ha' moments where Lucy helped me realise what was going on to continue to develop quickly and get over any hurdles (mostly me playing too quickly!). Lucy is also very flexible on helping to learn pieces that you're passionate about. I decided to learn a piece that was definitely way above my skill level but I progressed well while also learning from the Suzuki book to help improve my overall technical ability.

Learning any new skill as an adult can be a challenge but Lucy is always very encouraging, reassuring and patient - not to mention an absolutely incredible piano player to boot! She's also really good fun and I always look forward to our lessons. In short, she's an absolutely brilliant teacher and I went from knowing nothing to being able to play pieces I would never have imagined I could play." - testimonial by Andy Flight.

New Testimonial just in:

“As an adult piano learner, I've had the pleasure of being guided by Lucy for over a year now, and I can confidently say that she is an exceptional piano teacher.

Lucy's patience is truly remarkable. Regardless of the challenges I face, whether stumbling over a passage or struggling with a new technique, she remains supportive. Her ability to create a nurturing environment has played a pivotal role in my progress as a piano novice.

What truly sets Lucy apart is her dedication to the Suzuki Method. Through this approach, she not only teaches me how to play the piano but also fosters an appreciation for music. The Suzuki Method's emphasis on listening, repetition, and reinforcement has made each lesson with Lucy both educational and enjoyable.

Under Lucy's guidance, I've not only built up my piano skills but also deepened my appreciation of music. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Lucy to anyone seeking a piano teacher who not only possesses technical expertise but also fosters a genuine love for piano. Thank you, Lucy, for your support, patience, and dedication to my musical journey!” — Chi Shao.
