🎉 Apprentice of the Month – July 🎉

A huge congratulations to Kaydi, who was named our Apprentice of the Month for July. We’re pleased to now share and celebrate her achievement.

Kaydi has been recognised for her exceptional resilience, determination and strong commitment to her apprenticeship at Cherry Pie Day Nursery .

Her Skills Coach, Laura Tapscott, Early Years Skills Coach, shared:

🧑‍🍳 5/5 Food Hygiene 🧑‍🍳 We are very happy to announce that our Chef Charlie received a 5/5 Food Hygiene Rating which reflects the hard work he puts in daily by cooking yummy food for the children! Well Done Charlie 🥦🍎

🌊☀️ A Stroll to the Beach ☀️🌊 The Babies visited the beach today and enjoyed the walk down in the pram, whilst they observed the world around them. What a lovely way of introducing new words like ‘seagull’, ‘wind’ and ‘waves’ whilst enjoying the sea breeze! ☀️

🌈📚 A Trip to our Local Bookshop 📚🌈 Our Preschoolers took a trip to our Local Bookshop in search of books about Love and Pride as they have been learning about Pride ready for Brighton Pride this weekend. The children walked safely down to the bookshop, showing excellent road safety and awareness and then sitting down in the bookshop for a lovely story about Pride. The children asked lots of lovely questions to deepen their knowledge and started conversations about differences and how each of them are unique. It was lovely to see the children exploring the world around them and how unique each and every one is! ❤️🏳️‍🌈

👩‍🍳 Little Chefs in the Making 👩‍🍳 Our Babies have recently shown a big interest in cooking and working together as a team to complete tasks. The Babies decided to work as a team to collect blackberries from our garden to make their very own Blackberry Crumble. The children strengthened their fine motor skills as the tipped, poured and sprinkled the ingredients into the bowl, developed their turn taking skills as they passed the bowl to each other and developed their communication and language skills through introducing new single words like ‘crumble’, ‘sprinkle’ and ‘blackberry’. What a yummy learning experience for the Babies to enjoy! 🫐🍓

🐝🪴 Toddlers Trip To The Bee Garden 🪴🐝 Our Toddlers recently took a trip to the Bee Garden and showed excellent listening skills when walking there safely. Before the trip, the toddlers learnt about road safety and what colour traffic light was safe to walk across the road. When they arrived, the observed the beautiful flowers and smells of the different herbs, as well searching for different bugs that they could see 🌿🌸

🌸🌼 Flower Garden Fun 🌼🌸 The Babies loved exploring our flower and garden inspired themed sensory tray, with a range of different textures and materials to explore, manipulate and feel. In addition to this, this activity was a great way to develop the babies’ communication and language skills by introducing new single words like ‘sprinkle’, ‘pour’ and ‘tip’, practicing the different animal sounds and encouraging simple back and fourth conversations between peers and educators! 🌷🌻

🚌🐠 A Trip to the Marina 🐠🚌 Our Pre Schoolers took a trip to the marina to buy fish for their brand new fish tank in their classroom. Whilst they were there, the children learnt about Marine life and knowledge around the different fish and how to care for them. The Pre Schoolers were excited to bring them back to their classroom and to show everyone else in the setting! 🐠

🦆 Two Little Ducks Went Swimming One Day 🦆 All of the children have loved watching the ducks swim and have learnt how to handle and care for the ducks too. We are so sad to see the ducks leave tomorrow but what a great learning experience and opportunity it has been for all our children!
