Maternity leave is such a particular time. Wonderful and overwhelming in equal measure.
Having somewhere to go each week that you genuinely look forward to — somewhere your baby is learning and growing, and where you are too — makes all the difference.
This is what Baby College is for. Not just for your baby. For you.

Baby College Brighton and Hove
A fun program of parent and baby classes designed to inspire parents and deliver a complete developmental work out to infants from birth to three.
Three ways to use music with your baby this week:
🎵 Sing through nappy changes and bath time — even a made-up song. Routine plus rhythm is very good for a developing brain.
🔁 Copy game — make a sound, wait, copy what your baby gives back. This is your baby's first conversation.
🎶 Rock and sing together — you are working the balance system and the auditory system at exactly the same time. Two-for-one.
You do not need to be musical. Your baby is not listening to the quality of your voice. They are tuning into you.
A study published in Nature this year found that singing to newborns activates the same specialised brain networks as speech — and both are far more powerful than music alone. Your voice does something a playlist cannot. Find out what it is at babycollege.co.uk/blog
Did you know? In 2022, the CDC updated its developmental milestone guidelines for the first time in decades. They moved the walking milestone from 12 months to 15 months, and removed crawling as a required milestone altogether. Not because standards are falling — but because the old figures did not reflect the real range of normal. Development is a wide road. 🛤️
At Baby College, play is not just fun. It is how babies explore the world. Movement is how they build their brain. And learning happens in every single moment of every single class.
Play. Move. Learn. That is what we are all about.

Nobody said parenting was easy. But if you are going to put in the hard work, it is nice to know you are doing the right things. And it really helps to do it with people who get it.
Baby College is a community. A room full of people at the same stage, sharing the same experiences, supporting each other through the early months and years. Friendships that start on a play mat and last a lifetime.
Come and find your people.

Baby College is not all about the gram.
Nobody ever looks back and says "I wish I had more photos of my baby dressed as a frog."
What parents do look back on is knowing they were present, informed, and doing the right things at the right time. That they understood their baby. That they made the most of those early months, not just for the photos, but for the development, the connection, and the confidence it built in both of them.
That is what Baby College is for.
We want you to look back in ten years and feel proud of the effort you put in. Confident that you gave your baby the best possible start. And certain that those sessions on the play mat mattered far more than any costume ever could.

New blog post today. Those ages on the milestone charts? They are median ages. That means half of all babies reach them later — and that is completely normal. Read today's post to find out what milestone ages actually tell you, why the guidelines were recently updated, and what genuinely helps development at home. Read it at babycollege.co.uk/blog
Baby College is fun. Genuinely, brilliantly fun.

Your baby deserves more than a good time. They deserve a great start.
