Attention all women.

It echoes exactly the experiences I've been having in my own relationship.

At times, when my partner Abi has tried to communicate her own needs or how she is feeling, or even just express herself, it has felt to ME like she is attacking me or pointing out my flaws.

At these times, I'm not actually listening to Abi. All I can hear is that I'm failing.

And so I react, or shut down, and communication between us ceases.

At worst, this unhealthy way of relating has had us questioning…

Are we just not right for each other? Is this the end?

If this sounds familiar, I'm pleased to tell you that this doesn’t have to be the case.

Through a lot of inner work and by choosing to keep showing up for ourselves and for one another, Abi and I found a new way of relating with each other.

A way of communicating that has seen us move through that tough periods stronger and more connected than we've ever been.

A way of being, that despite the additional pressure of having a baby thrown into the mix, continues to see us rise together.

What does this look like?

I've been able to open up to a deeper level of emotional expression and intimacy.

Abi is now able to express knowing that I will hear what she's saying and allow her the space she needs to feel her emotions.

From this space we are both able to thrive in our relationship and in the other areas of life that are important to us.

And this is what I want to share with you.
