🌊🐠 Helping Our Sea Animals! 🐢🦀

Today, the children became little ocean helpers! They worked together to rescue the sea animals by carefully removing all the rubbish from their underwater world.

As they played, the children explored different sea animals and discovered a variety of textures, including seaweed. They enjoyed touching, feeling and moving the different materials while learning about how we can help keep our oceans clean and safe for sea life.

It was a wonderful opportunity to encourage teamwork, curiosity and care for our environment.

The children finally got to harvest the potatoes they planted together with Xhoana at the beginning of summer!

Throughout the summer, they made sure to water and care for their plants regularly, especially during those hot sunny days. Along the way, they learned what plants need to grow, how to take care of them, and most importantly, they experienced the joy of watching something they planted grow right before their eyes.

They were absolutely delighted and so proud of themselves when they discovered just how many potatoes had grown underground!

Recently, the children enjoyed getting busy in the kitchen and pretending to be little bakers! They explored different ingredients, carefully measured with spoons, and mixed flour, water and salt to make their own dough.

As they played, we talked about full, empty, half-full, more and less, helping the children develop their early maths skills naturally through play. We also introduced new words such as flour, dough, mix, stir, pour and measure.

Some children decided to make cookies, while others enjoyed making bread. It was lovely to watch them take turns, share the ingredients and help their friends.

There was plenty of messy hands, happy faces and lots of chatting along the way! Activities like this are a lovely way for children to learn while having fun, building confidence, developing their fine motor skills and learning how to work together.

This week, the children have been talking all about themselves - what makes us similar, what makes us different, our families, and the little things that make each of us unique.

We also explored how we look and what makes our faces special. Then we used natural objects found in the forest to create our very own natural portraits.

It was lovely to see the children looking closely at one another, sharing ideas, celebrating differences, and expressing themselves in such a playful way.

The Blossoms have had lots of fun exploring our colourful rice tray! We created beautiful flowers for the insects to hide amongst, and the children used their fine motor skills to scoop, move and explore the rice while searching for the hidden insects.

It was lovely to see some of the Blossoms confidently naming the insects they found, including spiders!

A fun sensory experience full of exploring, learning and discovery!

The children had lots of fun learning about how we can look after our teeth and keep our smiles healthy!

We talked about going to the dentist and how the dentist helps us to keep our teeth strong and healthy. The children shared their own experiences of visiting the dentist and talked about what happens during a check-up.

We also learned how important it is to brush our teeth every morning and before bed. The children practised brushing the teeth making sure they cleaned them all.

It was lovely to see the children so interested and excited to learn about something that is part of their everyday lives. We talked about making toothbrushing a happy and healthy part of our daily routine.

Well done, everyone, for taking such good care of those beautiful smiles!

Today we had fun learning about germs and why washing our hands with soap is so important!

The children took part in a simple and exciting experiment using milk to represent germs and dirt. They used pipettes to add a little soap to the milk and watched carefully as the “germs” moved away and disappeared!

This hands-on activity helped the children understand, in a simple way, how soap helps to remove dirt and germs from our hands. They were fascinated by what they could see and enjoyed talking about why we need to wash our hands properly.

Learning through experiments makes important everyday routines fun, memorable and meaningful!

We all love singing nursery rhymes! The children decided to get creative while singing Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.

As they sang along, the children painted their very own stars, exploring colours, creativity and different brush movements. It was wonderful to see them joining in with the familiar song while expressing themselves through art.

The activity supported language development, listening skills, coordination and imagination, while making learning fun and meaningful. The children were so proud of their beautiful, colourful stars!

What a lovely way to combine music, creativity and learning!

What a ROAR-some week we've had in Blossoms Room! 🦖

Our little explorers have loved learning all about dinosaurs! They enjoyed dinosaur mark making, exploring a sensory tray filled with different textures and dinosaur eggs, and becoming real dinosaur rescuers by freeing dinosaurs trapped in a giant block of ice.

It has been wonderful to see their curiosity, teamwork, and imaginations shine through as they played, explored, and learned together.
