🎨 Paint & Donate for Amaze! 📚

Amaze’s Story Trail launches this Saturday, and we’re celebrating with a special day of creativity at Hopscotch Art Space!

Come along and paint your very own mini BookBench. Kits will be available to buy for £15 and include a mini bench, paintbrush and primary coloured paints, ready for you to get creative and come up with your own design. 🎨✨

And we’ll have a little extra creative help on the day! Local artist Jess Eyles painted our very own Hopscotch BookBench, Under the Brighton Rainbow, which is part of Amaze’s Story Trail. Jess will be popping into the Art Space to help with the mini bench painting and share some creative inspiration. 🌈

Best of all, every penny from the mini BookBench kits will go directly to Amaze, supporting families with disabled children and young people across Sussex. 💛

❤️Seaford Preschool's trip to the fire station and post sorting office!❤️

What an adventure the Seaford Preschoolers have had! They took trips to both the local fire department and Seaford postal sorting office. 🚒📬

The children had an absolutely wonderful time exploring fire engines and meeting local firefighters! They also had the opportunity to walk around the Seaford sorting office and watch all the letters and parcels get sorted into bins and get ready to travel to their final destinations! 🧯📮

Thank you to our local organisations for having us and giving the children such a fantastic introduction to some of the important jobs within our community. These trips sparked lots of curious questions and encouraged confidence among the preschoolers.

🎨 More time to get creative at Hopscotch Art Space! 🎨

From next week, we’re extending our opening hours and will now be open five days a week. ✨

Our new opening hours are:

🎨 Monday: Closed
🎨 Tuesday: Closed
🎨 Wednesday: 10am - 3pm
🎨 Thursday: 10am - 3pm
🎨 Friday: 10am - 3pm
🎨 Saturday: 10am - 3pm
🎨 Sunday: 10am - 3pm

That means even more time to pop in, pick up a paintbrush, get making and see where your imagination takes you. ❤️

Hopscotch Art Space is completely free and there’s no need to book. Come for ten minutes or stay for a while. We’ll have plenty of creative materials ready and waiting!

Seven Dials Veggie Garden is in full bloom! 🌼

The children have been picking as many tomatoes and beans as they can eat! The garden at Seven Dials is always filled with laughter and smiles but the children are particularly excited to pick fresh veggies to have at snack. 🍅🫛

Having food grown right in the garden helps the children learn about where their food comes from as well as understanding that growing your own food can be kinder to the environment. It's been absolutely amazing to watch the garden grow from tiny sprouts to huge vines! 🪴

They've even been taking rulers out to play so they can measure the beans growth each day! Well done little gardeners!

Congratulations to our Seaford setting for achieving the HALO Excellence Award! Given by the East Sussex council, the HALO award recognises dedication to caring for healthy active little ones. ❤️

The award is given to early years settings who consistently develop in the areas of health and wellbeing of children, families and staff. Seaford has shown the council outstanding healthy eating, physical activity, oral health and self-care. 🪥

❤️ Worthing Preschool Trip to the Seaside ❤️

Our Worthing Preschoolers enjoyed a lovely trip to the seaside, bringing their book of the month, Tiddler by Julia Donaldson, to life! 🐟📖

With the tide out, there was plenty to discover along the shore. The children searched for interesting rocks, explored the rock pools and took a closer look at some of the wonderful things they could find by the sea. 🌊

After learning all about the sea through Tiddler, it was lovely to take that curiosity beyond the pages of the book. The trip sparked lots of questions and conversations about the ocean, sea life and everything the children spotted along the way. ✨

A brilliant seaside adventure filled with exploring, discovering and learning together. 💛

🐋 We had a whale of a time at Hopscotch Art Space this weekend! 🌊🎨

Our Art Space was filled with under-the-sea creativity as children and their grown-ups made and decorated their very own sea creatures, from wonderful whales to colourful hammerhead sharks. 🦈✨

Thank you to everyone who came along, got stuck in and shared their creativity with us. We loved seeing all of your brilliant creations!

💛Worthing Yellow Room - Underwater-themed STEAM activity💛

The children had a lovely time exploring an underwater themed STEAM tray!🐠

Our little scientists experimented with oil and paint and discovered what happens when they try to mix them together. Everyone had lots of fun dropping the colourful oil into the water and chatted about why the two liquids don't mix. 🧪

This activity also encouraged the use of our fine motor skills with the pipettes and promoted independence.

Our Preston Park nursery hosted a wonderful Pride Stay & Play to celebrate all of our lovely families and community!

The children had all kinds of exciting activities to choose from! Rainbow sensory bins, colourful crafts and plenty of music and laughter!

It was so lovely to spend an afternoon celebrating the diversity within our community! We hope every family feels welcome, seen and celebrated at Hopscotch. Thank you very much to all who came to the Stay & Play and to all who make our community so special!
