La Casita Nursery

Esta semana, los niños profundizaron en su investigación sobre los pájaros combinando su interés por la construcción con piezas magnéticas y otros materiales para crear casitas de pájaros, espacios cerrados y nidos con palitos. Para ampliar su aprendizaje, las profes añadieron tarjetas de números y libros sobre gusanos e insectos para despertar curiosidad y conversaciones entre los niños.

This week, the children deepened their bird enquiry by combining their interest in building with magnetic tiles and other materials to create bird houses, enclosed spaces, and cosy stick nests. To extend their learning, educators added number cards and books about worms and insects to spark curiosity and conversation among the children.

En La Casita, los niños de preschool han estado muy involucrados en el esquema de trayectoria, descubriendo el movimiento, la velocidad, la dirección y la causa‑efecto a través del juego.

Nuestras educadoras prepararon propuestas muy atractivas que animaron a los niños a construir rampas, túneles y largos circuitos para sus coches. Experimentaron con la distancia, la altura y la velocidad, y transformaron la actividad en divertidos juegos matemáticos: contando coches, prediciendo cuál llegaría primero y comparando la longitud de los circuitos. Los niños también hicieron sus propios trazos para representar números, llevar la puntuación e incluso dibujar las carreteras por donde circulaban sus coches.

Durante estos días hemos vivido muchos momentos de aprendizaje alegres, creativos y llenos de energía — y los niños han disfrutado cada uno de ellos.

At La Casita, our preschoolers have been deeply engaged in the trajectory schema, discovering movement, speed, direction and cause‑and‑effect through hands‑on play.

Our educators prepared inviting setups that encouraged the children to build ramps, tunnels and long tracks for their cars. They experimented with distance, height and speed, and even turned the experience into playful maths games — counting cars, predicting which one would reach the end first, and comparing the lengths of their tracks. The children also made their own marks to represent numbers, keep score, and even draw the roads their cars were travelling on.

These experiences have created many joyful, creative and energetic learning moments across the past few days — and the children have truly been enjoying every one of them.
