Hi! I’m Lara, your President👋🏼
My interest in development includes figuring out alternatives to current systems by looking at community building, sustainability, and interdisciplinary connections🌍🤝
As Co President, and going into my fourth year at Sussex, I know how daunting finding a path within development that feels right to you can be. With this, I’d be focusing on hearing your thoughts about what you’d like to see from DevSoc, as well as your wellbeing.
I’d also focus on having workshops that help dissect topics learnt across Development modules, career workshops, and community building activities.
All in all, I’m excited to form a close knit community within Development at Sussex as we’ll all be learning from each other along the way and throughout our careers!
See you soon!😄

The future governance event by the Sussex Global Futures Forum on Tuesday the 28th of March at the Meeting House from 18:00-19:30 is an opportunity to have your say in shaping the future of environmental governance!!🤝🌍
The United Nations has set the agenda for international policy without consulting those affected for too long.
We are demanding a seat at the table for the upcoming Summit of the Future 2024.
The legislation agreed upon at this summit will most affect us as young people, so we are hosting our own Global Future Forum (GFF) alongside the GFF happening in New York to have our say in what the future of environmental governance looks like.
If you feel it’s important that the voices of the many not just the few are consulted, join us on Tuesday the 28th of March at the Meeting House from 18:00-19:30.
Contact: [email protected] with any questions.
