We've had a fantastic Culture Day! 🎉
The day began with a whole-school assembly, where Prep and Senior students proudly shared their cultural heritage. At lunchtime, we were delighted to welcome parents into school to share traditions, dances, cuisines and national dress from around the world. We also enjoyed a special school lunch celebrating different cuisines from around the world.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to making the day such a memorable and special celebration of our community. 🙌

Outstanding achievement in Mathematics! Following their success in the Junior Mathematics Challenge, four Year 8 students were selected to take part in the UKMT Junior Kangaroo Challenge, a competition that challenges students to solve complex, multi-stage problems beyond the UK curriculum.
Congratulations to all four students for qualifying and taking on this exciting challenge. Special congratulations go to Joy, who achieved a Silver Award, placing her in the top 20% of participants nationally.
A fantastic achievement that demonstrates curiosity, resilience and exceptional mathematical thinking.

What does it mean to educate girls in 2026?
In a recent interview with The Argus, our Head, Mel Shead, and Head of Prep, Sarah Griffiths, shared their perspectives on the opportunities and challenges facing young people today, and the vital role schools play in helping girls develop confidence, resilience and a strong sense of self.
At Brighton Girls, we believe girls thrive when they are encouraged to be kind, bold and unapologetically themselves. From our youngest learners in Prep through to Senior school, we create an environment where every student feels seen, heard and empowered to pursue her ambitions without being limited by stereotypes or expectations.
As a founding school of the Girls’ Day School Trust, we are proud to continue championing an education that equips girls not only for academic success, but for life beyond the classroom.

Merci! 🇫🇷
A huge well done to all of the students who took part in our French Wellbeing Week trip. They embraced every opportunity, spoke French with confidence, took risks and were fantastic ambassadors for Brighton Girls throughout the visit.
From our warm welcome at Collège Albert Camus to the many activities packed into the week, the girls demonstrated exactly what it means to be kind, bold and resilient.
We hope they return home with wonderful memories, increased confidence in their French and friendships that continue long after the trip has ended.
