My incredibly talented student, Umut Ege, has made unbelievable progress over three years, especially for someone pursuing music as a hobby! When he first came to me at the age of 13, he didn’t know how to read sheet music and had only taught himself a few simple pieces from YouTube. His progress in the first month of our lessons was astonishing—you can see this in the first video.
When I realized he enjoyed composing, we worked a little on writing sheet music. I encouraged him to learn how to professionally write music on a computer. As teachers, we often give advice, but students don’t always follow it. However, he took my suggestion to heart and learned to notate music digitally.
In the video from three years later, you can see him performing his own composition at a school concert! He now has dozens of compositions uploaded on his YouTube channel, complete with their sheet music. I highly recommend checking out his YouTube channel: .
I truly believe he has a bright future as a professional composer, and I wouldn’t be surprised if his name becomes well-known in the future. I’m incredibly proud of him!
