Sometimes you react before you’ve even had time to think.

Then afterwards, you replay the conversation, wonder why you reacted that way, or wish you’d handled it differently.

But understanding your reactions isn’t about blaming yourself.

It’s about getting curious about what’s happening underneath them.

Because when you understand what’s going on, you can start creating a little more space between the feeling and the response.

And that little bit of space can change a lot. ❤️

Does this sound familiar?

sometimes life looks good on the outside…

but inside, you’re exhausted.

You love your family.
You’re grateful for what you have.
You know you should be happy.

But you still feel overwhelmed, snappy or like you just need everyone to leave you alone for five minutes. 😂

And that doesn’t make you ungrateful.

You don’t have to wait until you’re falling apart to start listening to what you need. ❤️

How often do you get to the end of the day and realise you’ve spent it thinking about everyone except yourself?

Sometimes stress isn’t about one big thing.

It’s the accumulation of constantly doing, organising, thinking, worrying and holding everything together.

And eventually your mind and body start saying enough.

Maybe you don’t need to try harder to cope.

Maybe you need to start noticing what you need. ❤️

Sometimes we react in ways that surprise even us.
We snap. We overthink. We shut down. We get defensive.

And afterwards we wonder, “Why did I react like that?”

But understanding what’s happening underneath the reaction can be the first step towards responding differently.

You’re not broken. There’s usually a reason your mind and body respond the way they do. ❤️

The women I work with are often incredibly hard on themselves.

“I shouldn’t feel like this.”
“I don’t know why I reacted.”
“What is wrong with me?”

But what if nothing is wrong with you?

What if your reactions make sense once you understand them?

That’s where change begins.

Have you ever caught yourself judging your own emotions?

Have you ever noticed this about yourself?

Everything is going well...

But instead of enjoying it, your mind starts looking for what might go wrong.

I wonder if that’s because, for some of us, feeling prepared has become a way of feeling safe.

Sometimes just noticing that pattern is enough to remind us that we don’t have to believe every thought our mind offers us.

💜 I’d love to know if this resonates with you.

This morning, before a busy day of house paperwork, I gave myself 20 minutes by the sea.

Not because everything else was done.

Not because I had loads of spare time.

Because I knew I’d show up differently if I gave myself a moment to breathe first.

We often tell ourselves we’ll rest when everything is finished.

But life doesn’t really work like that.

✨ I wonder what would change if we gave ourselves permission to pause before we reached the point of overwhelm.

💜 What helps you take a moment for yourself when life feels full?

What if coming home from holiday isn’t the problem...

Maybe it’s that being away reminded you what it feels like to slow down.

To have fewer demands.

To feel lighter.

When everyday life starts again, that contrast can feel really emotional.

Instead of asking yourself, “Why do I feel like this?”

Maybe ask...

“What did my holiday give me that my everyday life is missing?”

Sometimes the answer isn’t another holiday.

It’s permission to create more breathing space in your normal life. 💜

✨ I’d love to know... have you ever felt like this?

“I’m fine.”

It’s a phrase so many of us use without thinking.
Not because we’re okay…

But because we’ve become so used to carrying on.

Sometimes the hardest question to answer is:
“How am I really doing?”

If this resonated with you, know that you don’t have to wait until you’re at breaking point before asking for support. 💜

When women first come to see me, they often tell me they’re stressed.
And sometimes they are.
But as we start talking, something deeper often emerges.
They’re carrying the mental load.
They’re putting everyone else’s needs before their own.
They’re worrying about saying no.
They’re feeling unheard in their relationships.
They’re constantly wondering if they’re doing enough.
So what they’re experiencing isn’t just stress.
It’s emotional exhaustion.
And when you’ve been carrying that for a long time, it can affect how you think, how you feel, your relationships, and even your body.
That’s why my work isn’t just about helping women feel calmer.
It’s about helping them understand themselves with compassion and create lasting change through counselling and hypnotherapy.

Can you relate to carrying more than people realise?
