On Monday 7th September after school, we will be holding football trials for our new Y7 boys! ⚽️

If you are attending, you need to bring your full PE kit, football boots and shin pads. Just turn up at the changing rooms after school and join in! The trials will be finished at 4pm.

The event will be run by Mr Spencer and Mr Fitzjohn.

Reminder to all students that the Brighouse PE kit is required for ALL PE lessons!

If any students do not have their PE kit for lessons, they MUST bring a note and wear alternate kit. This will be our spare kit but if we do not have any spare kit, please be prepared and bring alternate kit to still take part in the lesson.

As we come to the end of another fantastic school year, we would like to congratulate all of our Sports Personality of the Month winners from throughout the year.
Each month, our PE staff nominate one boy and one girl who have demonstrated the qualities that make them outstanding role models. Nominations recognise not only sporting achievement but also commitment, effort, resilience, teamwork and a positive attitude in PE lessons and school sport. Our winners are proudly displayed outside the small sports hall and receive a certificate to celebrate their achievement.

Congratulations to every student who has received this award - you should all be incredibly proud of yourselves!

This has been another great year for sport, with so many students representing the school, embracing new opportunities and demonstrating excellent sportsmanship both in lessons and at competitions. Thank you to our dedicated PE staff for their continued support and encouragement, and to all of our students who have contributed to making this such a successful year.

We can't wait to see what next year brings. Well done, everyone!🏆💙❤️

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ Calderdale Super 5s 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Our Year 7, Year 8, Year 9 and Year 10 students were fantastic at the athletics event on Wednesday. They competed brilliantly throughout the day and represented Brighouse with pride.

Overall team results:
Year 7: 5th place
Year 8: 11th place
Year 9: 5th place
Year 10: 6th place

We also celebrated numerous individual and team medals across all year groups!

We are very pleased to announce that one of our year 8 students, Ava, has been selected to represent England at the Dance World Cup next month. The competition will take place in Ireland on 8th-18th July, where Ava will be competing alongside her duet partner.

As well as this, Ava has been awarded a place with the Royal Ballet School. The Royal Ballet School is one of the most prestigious schools in the dance world and is consistently ranked within the top three ballet training academies in the world. We are so proud of you, Ava.

Good luck Ava, this is a fantastic achievement and opportunity. We are all behind you!

It was brilliant to get back on to the cricket field today, as our u15s faced local rivals Rastrick this afternoon in a league and cup double header. Rastrick won the toss, bowled extremely well and restricted BHS to a modest total. We bowled well but Rastrick progressed to the next round as worthy winners. On to the next game! 🏏🏏🏏
