Wow, wow, wow - what a day! A huge thank you to Helen for organising our creative day and to everyone who came to the Indian Block Printing Workshop. The aprons are in the washing machine, the remaining kit has been washed (thank you SO much to those of you who helped with that today) and now I have had the fun of looking through the photographs and admiring your amazing projects. I hope you all are as proud of your creations as I have felt looking through the photographs.
Please remember to heat set any items that may be washed and, all being well, I will be back with you in November for Block Printing Part 2!

Tutoring the silk painting workshop today was a true joy, with engaged learners, vibrant colours, and a wonderfully creative group the entire day.
Workshop Highlights:
- Thank you to Andrea, Nicola, Michelle, Emma and Inara for being amazingly engaged participants, who brought a wonderful curiosity and opened up to new techniques right away;
- Superb gutta line-work: For a first attempt at applying gutta resist, (which is notoriously difficult to apply), incredible hand control and precision was demonstrated;
- Smart design choices: It was wonderful to see students independently apply the morning's salt effect techniques to their later projects;
- Stunning results: Watching plain white silk transform into bright, flowing pieces of art is always magical;
- Calm atmosphere: The craft room felt peaceful, warm, and full of supportive, happy energy all day long. Thank you again for attending and to Chrissy and Diane, as always, for your fabulous hospitality.
Please remember to heat set your scarves and handkerchiefs tomorrow. :-)

Today’s the day! I am really looking forward to a lovely day silk painting at The Fabbadashery, Halifax, today, but will very much miss my regular workshop attendee Jackie, who is not able to join us today. Sending very best wishes your way and hoping to see you soon. XX

Last space left at my next block printing full day workshop. This one is being held at Sowood Community Centre, Stainland Road, Sowood, Halifax, HX4 9HY on Saturday 8th August from 10 am - 4 pm. All materials will be provided for you to print a wide variety of items to take home. There will be refreshments available, just bring some lunch. 'Doesn't matter clothes' are highly recommended as you will be working with paints designed to colour fabrics! This is a super workshop, designed for beginner and experienced block printers alike.
