Summer Availability for GCSE Maths Tutoring!

This school year has been a very disrupted school year for most students with periods of isolation and school closures. If you are wanting your child to catch up, or get ahead, with their maths knowledge before the next school year I now have availability for 1:1 tuition over the summer holidays.

I am a qualified maths teacher, trained by an OFSTED rated outstanding training provider with 4 years experience teaching GCSE maths at a world class school. I have experience teaching both foundation and higher and have taught students ranging from grade 1 to 9. I am offering 1:1 tuition, mainly through online video calls due to COVID-19 restrictions, but I can also travel to provide face-to-face tuition depending on your location.

See the BBC article below on how teacher assessed grades will be used this summer. We still do not know how this will be done and are awaiting more guidance from Ofqual on this.

Gavin Williamson says cancelled A-levels and GCSEs will be replaced by grades from teachers.

Hi everyone!

I will try my best to keep the page updated with anything that I find out about year 11 exams in the summer - I know how much unofficial information is posted on social media/in the news and it can be hard to know what is and isn’t happening!

As of currently, there is no clear guidance on how year 11 students will be assessed this summer but it has not officially been announced that exams are cancelled - all that has been said is that they will be unlikely to be held in their current form. I would expect that there will be some form of assessment process taking place (whether that be teacher assessed grades or a different type of assessment) between now and summer so please ensure you are completing the online work set by your teacher/school and continuing with your revision as normal!

It’s been announced that it won’t be possible for exams to go ahead as normal this summer – and that the Government will work with Ofqual and exam boards on alternative arrangements.

I am offering 2 sessions for the price of 1 on all virtual 1:1 sessions when you book your first session with me before the end of July! The second session can be taken whenever you like. Also don't forget I have a FREE independent learning resource pack available on sharing into a ratio! This is a full lesson structure with a starter, hand-written examples, practice questions and a differentiated worksheet. Just like the page and message me asking for it!

I have created some independent learning resources on the topic of sharing into a ratio as a taster session.

If you would like these resources FREE of charge, all you need to do is join the group LA Maths Tutoring and send me a private message on Facebook messenger and I will send them to you!
The independent learning resources include the lesson structure of a starter, a full written example with tips and hints, practice questions with answers and then a differentiated worksheet (easy, medium hard questions) with answers. This is for your child to complete as independent study and should have everything they need to help them attempt the work. This service also includes the option to contact me through messenger (or this page) to ask any questions they may have or to get further assistance. Where possible with this service I will also try to include fun extension tasks to further embed their learning.

With the school closures as a result of COVID-19 resulting in over 12 weeks of learning missed for many students, I have decided to offer my expertise over the summer to help students to fill this gap and feel more prepared to enter the maths classroom again in September.
I am a qualified maths teacher, trained by an OFSTED rated outstanding training provider with over 3 years experience teaching GCSE maths at a world class school. I have experience teaching both foundation and higher and have taught students ranging from grade 1 to 9. I am offering 2 levels of tuition:
Independent tuition: For this I will provide you with examples, videos and practice questions for key topics and will be available to assist with this via Facebook messenger or, where required, a phone call on a weekly basis.
1:1 tuition: Initially through online video calls due to COVID-19 restrictions.
