I Learn Education Brigg The primary ethos of 'I Learn Education' is learning through play.

At I Learn Day Nursery, we deliver the highest standards of Care & Education for all children who attend our setting. Our practice is delivered in accordance with a statutory framework called the Early Years Foundation Stage.

🍂🎃 Our Forest School Adventure! 🌿🧙‍♀️🔥

What a magical time we had during our Forest School session today, with our very first group of Investigator children heading down into the woods for an autumn adventure! 🍁✨

The children embraced the great outdoors, getting hands-on with nature and exploring all things autumnal and Halloween-themed. 🎃

🍂 We cut open pumpkins and explored what was inside, discovering their textures and getting wonderfully messy!
🧹 We created our very own natural broomsticks using sticks and beautiful flowers we found along the way.
🧪 We became little witches and wizards, mixing up magical potions using leftover petals and natural treasures.
🍁 We made leaf confetti cannons, filling the woodland with a flurry of autumn colours!
📚 We brought our favourite book characters to life by drawing them, sharing our love of stories in the great outdoors.
🌲 We used colourful wool to wrap around pinecones, creating our own unique and special woodland masterpieces to take home.
🔥 And, of course, no Forest School adventure would be complete without some delicious campfire cooking! The children enjoyed sausages cooked over the fire before tucking into yummy, gooey s’mores. 😋🍫

Our session was filled with curiosity, creativity, imagination and plenty of opportunities to develop our physical skills, explore the natural world and build confidence in the great outdoors. Most importantly, we made some wonderful memories together! ❤️

We are so proud of our Investigators for embracing their first group adventure in the woods, and we can't wait to see what our next Forest School session brings! 🌿🍂

🍲🦊 Gruffalo Granny’s Stew! 🦊🍲

Yesterday our little Investigators got busy in the kitchen preparing the vegetables for our very special Gruffalo Granny’s Stew! 🌿🥕🥔

The children had lots of fun peeling and carefully cutting the vegetables, developing their independence, fine motor skills and confidence as they helped to prepare the ingredients. 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

Today, our wonderful cook turned all of their hard work into a delicious Gruffalo Granny’s beef and vegetable stew for everyone to enjoy! 🥕🥔🧅

We think the Gruffalo might have stopped by for a bowl too… 👀🐾

Our Special Visit to Orchard Court Care Home

Today 5 of our Investigator children went on a very special adventure to Orchard Court Care Home to spend some time with the residents and enjoy some games and activities together.

We were very excited to travel on the big red bus! Along the way, we spotted some huge diggers and dumper trucks working on the road, which was very exciting to see.

When we arrived at the care home, we were welcomed into the lounge where we met some of the residents, who we called the ‘grandmas and grandads’.

We started with a fun game of keepy-uppy with balloons! We used our hands and feet to try and keep the balloons up in the air, and some of the residents joined in with us too. There were lots of smiles and laughter as we tried to stop the balloons from touching the floor!

Next, we used the parachute to keep the balls bouncing in the air. This was very tricky, but great fun! The balls were jumping and rolling everywhere, which made us laugh even more.

After all that playing, we enjoyed a lovely picnic snack with some yummy fruit and a drink. We then settled down to listen to a story together.
One of the lovely ladies who read the story to us is nearly 100 years old! What a very special experience.

Before it was time to leave, we shared our harvest songs with the residents. They were very happy to listen to us, and we loved being able to perform our songs for them.

We had such a wonderful time making memories together. It was a very special visit, and we can't wait to go back again!

🏡❤️ Home Learning – My Family ❤️🏡

As part of our ‘All About Me’ learning when our Investigators joined us in September, the children have been learning all about themselves, their families and the special people who are important to them. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦💕

For our home learning activity, we sent home a lolly stick house on card for the children to create their very own family home! 🪵🏠 They then drew pictures of the people who make their family special and placed them inside their little homes. 🥰

We have absolutely loved seeing all of the wonderful creations and hearing the children talk about who is in their family, where they live and what makes their home special. 💬❤️

This is a lovely way to encourage children to talk about their sense of belonging, relationships and the people who are important to them, while also developing their creativity and fine motor skills.

A huge thank you to all of our Investigators families for getting involved with our home learning! 🌿💚

We’re always committed to keeping our knowledge and skills up to date, so some of our team members completed their Paediatric First Aid training last weekend 👏🏼

The training included refreshing essential first aid knowledge and practical skills, ensuring our team feel confident and prepared to respond should a first aid situation arise within our setting.

A huge thank you to Dave at ABC First Aid & Safety Training Ltd., who always manages to keep the training fun, engaging and interesting! 🙌🏼 This really helps to ensure everyone is learning, getting involved and taking all of the important information in. ❤️‍🩹

EXCITING NEWS! ✨

Due to ongoing demand for places at I Learn Brigg, we’re delighted to announce that we have successfully acquired the building across the road to expand our nursery and create a dedicated baby unit. 👶🏼🤍

We’re aiming to open our doors in January 2027 and we couldn’t be more excited about what this means for our families.

We already have a waiting list, which we are currently working through, so if you’re looking for a baby place, please get in touch with the team as soon as possible.

Another building, another project… and another exciting chapter for I Learn Education. 🏡✨

🍂 Autumn Home Learning Fun! 🍁

Our nursery children have been given a special Autumn Treasure Bag to take home! 🌰🍃

We’re encouraging our little explorers to look around their environment and collect different signs of autumn — colourful leaves, pinecones, acorns, conkers, or anything else that catches their eye. 🕵️‍♀️✨

Once they’ve filled their bags, we can’t wait to see what treasures they bring back to share with their friends! It’s a lovely way to explore the changing seasons and talk about colours, textures, and nature together. 🌳🍁

Don’t forget to share your autumn finds with us in the comments, on parent zone or bring your bag back to nursery to show and tell! We have loved what we have recieved so far 📸💛
