Fires burning, autumn is turning, bonnet mushrooms nestling amongst the leaves. Reds, oranges, golds and yellows turn the woodland floor into a crunchy carpet. Nature at its very best. Kids smiling, laughter echoing, calls for hot chocolate, amongst the whoosh of the swooshing leaves of the trees in the autumn breeze. 🐝🍂🍁🔥

Pinecraft, pumpkins, hot chocolate and s’mores. What an awesome morning.

Tomorrow is going to be very much like today. It was erring on the chilly side today and it is muddy due to the rain. So layer up. Bring a drink and a packed lunch. Pumpkin carving and Pinecraft are the main activities for tomorrow. Look forward to seeing you all. 🐝🍁🍂🔥

It’s that time again. Back in the woods enjoying the fresh air. Feeling really blessed. The children set up the tarpaulin and arranged the site. Taking into account all the risks. Followed by pumpkin carving and a spot of lunch. So proud of them.

Tomorrow looks to be a different day than today. However, the ground will be quite sodden and slippy underfoot.

There is a definite autumnal feel to the air so we will need to wrap up. Clothing needs to be layered where possible with a raincoat and trousers in case the weather becomes wet. Footwear with a good grip is advisable. A great sense of adventure and the willingness to have some fun is a must.

A drink and a packed lunch will be needed. I will also supply hot chocolate and biscuits.

We will be pumpkin carving over the next 3 days. Along with other woodland crafts.

Tuesday - Fully Booked.
Wednesday - 5 places

Places are booking up quickly, so message me to secure your place. 🐝

Sessions are for children aged 8-12 Timings 10 am - 2 pm
Location woodlands at Hunters Lodge Fisheries, Church Lane, Elsham DN20 0RG.
Equipment - old clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, wet weather clothing (weather dependant), sun cream as and when required and a pack-up.

For these sessions I will require a £5 deposit payable on booking to secure your child’s place. This is due to no shows, which stops a child that wanted to come from attending.

Happy Friday 🐝

This afternoon Ivy and Ruairi made a fantastic hedgehog house, while the others were testing the capacity of their dens.

Foraging then Harry Potter potion making and woodland printing. A 2 in 1 activity. Followed by the girls creating some beautiful lavender decorations. 🐝

The girls trying a mixture of natural surrounds and a camouflage tarpaulin 🐝we have whittled, Forest bathed and listened to the kestrels up above our heads.
The rain has not dampened these guys ingenuity 🐝

What an awesome day in the woods with these Woodland Warrior’s. I love the outdoors, I love what I do and these guys are just awesome. Happy Wednesday 🐝

Tomorrow the weather is forecast as cloudy and dry. Due to the wet weather the woodland will be teaming with gnats. Please can you apply insect repellent before they attend.

We will be cooking sausages and burgers on the fire, along with s’mores. Your child will not need a pack up just a drink. If they do not want the cooked food then please do send them with a packed lunch.

Some pictures from yesterday. Here we were honing our fire lighting skills using a fire steel. They showed great resilience. It’s trickier than you think 🐝

Good evening,
It’s going to be another hot one tomorrow. Can you make sure your child(ren) have plenty of drink with them.
The woodland has a vast canopy,so is remarkably cool. There are however, midges so I would advise that insect repellent is put on. I do have spray on site. Please notify me in the morning if you need it applying.
Dress as always is a long lightweight t-t-shirt and long lightweight trousers. A pack up, a drink and a barrel of adventure. 🐝

Planting oak saplings is hungry work.

Tomorrow is going to hot. Please ensure your child has enough to drink. The woodland is very sheltered so there is no need for sunscreen. I will have extra water. Insect repellent would be advisable; I do have some on site if required. See you in the morning. 🐝

Come and join us in the woods. Some of the activities on offer:
Den building, whittling, fire making, outdoor cooking, woodland exploring - nature hunt, nature art, knot tying, forest bathing in our hammocks, willow weaving to name but a few.
Sessions run from 10-2 and are £20 a session.
