☀️ Sunshine, smiles and a bit of welly wanging!

Our Sixth Formers made the most of the glorious weather by heading outside for some light-hearted competition — and what a contest it was! 🥾

There were some seriously impressive throws (and a few that didn’t quite go to plan 👀), with plenty of laughter along the way. The competition was fierce, but in the end, there could only be one champion thrower! 🏆

A brilliant way to relax, recharge and enjoy some well-deserved time in the sunshine 🌿

✈️ Taking learning to new heights!

One of our Sixth Form students recently had the amazing opportunity to go flying through CCF—an unforgettable experience and a real confidence boost!

The best part? You can still be part of CCF in Sixth Form, with plenty of exciting opportunities ahead.

Here is what James had to say about the experience 'On Monday the 16th March, I went to RAF Leeming with the RAF Section on a flying experience day in the Grob Tutor. Because I have been before, I used the day to learn and complete new stunts to add to my log book such as controlled stalls and inverted flight while being supervised by an Air Cadet Officer pilot. The flight lasted about 30 minutes and took us around the surrounding areas in formation with the other cadets in the air, giving me valuable flying hours and a chance to help the younger cadets get their Wings badge.'

🎨💐 Creative Moments in Sixth Form 💐🎨

This week, we got crafty decorating beautiful little trinket boxes—perfect gifts just in time for Mother’s Day! 💝

Students showed off their creativity with some truly lovely designs, making each box unique and full of thought. From bright colours to delicate details, there was so much talent on display! ✨

We love taking time in Sixth Form to enjoy a creative moment together, with a different activity running each time—it’s a great way to relax, connect, and try something new. 🎨😊

We can’t wait to see what we create next! 👀

Tomorrow, Wednesday 25th March, Year 13s will receive their mock exam results during PD.

We know this can feel like a big moment, but remember—these results are a stepping stone, not the final destination. 💭

Mocks are there to help you identify what’s going well and, more importantly, what you can improve ahead of your real exams. Take the time to reflect, ask for support, and put a plan in place to move forward. 📚✨

🎉 Julie’s Activities – Last Week’s Challenge! 🎉

Last week, it was all about energy, endurance, and a lot of laughs as we took on the Skipping Challenge! 🪢💪

We saw some fantastic determination, impressive stamina, and a few very creative skipping styles along the way! 😂👏

👔✨ This week, our Sports students stepped up and dressed to impress!

As part of their coursework, they took part in a formal interview task—developing key employability skills and preparing for future careers in the sports industry.

From confident communication to professional presentation, they absolutely smashed it… and looked incredibly smart doing it! 👏

⭐A group of our School Council students collected a £500 cheque after being successful in securing this funding towards active travel at the Active Travel Ambassador’s Campaign Junction at East Riding County Hall.

🚒 Work Experience at the Fire Station! 🚒

Our students had an incredible opportunity as they took part in a hands-on work experience day at the local fire station.

During the visit, students were fully kitted out in firefighter gear and got a real insight into what life in the fire service is like. They had the chance to learn how to operate specialist equipment, including the ladder crane and the fire hose pump, as well as taking part in a range of practical drills used by firefighters during real incidents.

The experience gave students a fantastic understanding of the teamwork, skill and quick thinking required to work in the emergency services.

A huge thank you to the fire crew for giving their time, sharing their expertise and providing such an engaging and memorable experience for our students. 👏

A murder was committed…

But don’t panic! 🕵️‍♀️🕵️‍♂️ Our top investigation officers were on the case. Students followed the clues, examined the evidence and worked together to crack the mystery.
