Dear Parents/Carers of children starting Year 6 in September

‼️Important Dates‼️

Do you have a child who is due to transfer from Primary to Secondary school in September 2027?

The online portal for Secondary and Upper School applications will be open from 14th September 2026 and you will have up until midnight on 31st October 2026 to submit an on-time application.

We recommend you always include your catchment school as one of your preferences. If you don't and it becomes oversubscribed, we can't guarantee your child a place there and if you don't get offered one of the schools you have chosen, your child might be offered a school further away with no travel assistance.

Miss Hall and Miss Whitwham will be available once term restarts to help if you are unsure which school is the best choice for your child.

Still spaces available for the sports camp with Mr Irish! Please message to book a space.

For those that are coming - please remember plenty to drink, snacks and lunch, a hat and suncream to be applied before arrival.

Tomorrow, our incredible Year 6 students will bid farewell to Eastover after many incredible years. We are so proud of you all. We have enjoyed watching you grow up and grow taller ( than Mrs Whitney!!!).

To the parents of our Year 6 students, thank you for your support and kindness. We have known many of you for many years now and we will miss seeing you and your children in September.

We look forward to sharing some of our favourite memories with you tomorrow morning. Bring tissues. Lots of tissues.

Haygrove School is inviting incoming Year 7 families to a special Uniform Sell/Swap event on Thursday 23 July, offering the chance to pick up quality pre-loved school uniform at a fraction of the usual cost.

The event will take place at Haygrove School from 2.45pm to 3.30pm and is aimed particularly at parents and carers of students joining the school in September. Families will be able to browse a range of second-hand uniform items, helping to make the transition to secondary school more affordable while supporting sustainability.

A wide selection of items will be available, including blazers, ties, shirts, skirts, trousers and PE kit, with prices starting from just 50p.

Uniform prices include:

Year 5 took part in an online meet and greet today and met some of their favourite children’s authors including Lisa Thompson - award winning author of Goldfish boy.

They were even lucky enough to hear a poet reading her own World Cup poem live from a campsite in Norfolk! Some authors were as far away as California! Thank you to the_rebel_reading_society for an entertaining and inspiring morning 📚!

Year 6 Reminder

Due to England's Football World Cup Semi Final against Argentina starting at 8pm on Wednesday, we have decided to bring forward the start time of that performance of Dorothy's Adventures in the Land of Oz to 5pm with doors opening at 4:45pm.

On Wednesday only, children who are taking part in the production will remain in school until the performance begins. Please ensure they bring additional food and drinks to school so they have enough to keep them going throughout the afternoon and before the show.

Children who are not involved in the production should be collected/walk home as normal.

Tuesday's performance will remain the same, starting at 6pm with children returning to school at 5.15pm.

Please make sure children return the slips letting us know how they’re getting home after the shows.

KS2 put their French speaking into practise today at Madame Pickford’s French Cafe. They enjoyed eating croissants and pain au chocolat! X

Due to the hot weather expected over the next few days, children are welcome to come to school wearing their PE kit if they feel more comfortable doing so.

We kindly ask that children continue to wear suitable footwear and bring a water bottle, hat, and any sun protection they may need.
