Our students at Cannington College are celebrating outstanding results across Nuclear & Clean Energy, land-based and Technical & Professional qualifications, with 100% pass rates in Nuclear & Clean Energy, 76% achieving Distinction profile grades and an impressive 38% achieving Distinction*.

🌿 A very special recognition for The Walled Gardens of Cannington

We’re delighted to share that The Walled Gardens of Cannington has been awarded a National Garden Scheme sundial in recognition of more than 50 years of fundraising for charity.

Through regular openings for the National Garden Scheme, as well as supporting charities including Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance and St Margaret’s Hospice Care, the gardens have helped raise vital funds while creating a beautiful space for visitors to enjoy.

A wonderful achievement and a testament to the kindness, generosity and community spirit that has been at the heart of the gardens for decades.

Celebrating World Nature Conservation Day 🌿

At Cannington College, our students are helping to create a richer, more resilient environment for wildlife while developing valuable conservation skills alongside staff and University Centre Somerset Higher Education learners.

From creating habitats for hedgehogs, bats, amphibians and pollinators to enhancing wildflower areas, installing bug hotels and monitoring biodiversity across the campus, this project is helping nature thrive.

Already, the project has recorded 75 bird species, 147,724 bird calls and 15 Red List bird species – just one snapshot of the incredible biodiversity being supported across our campus.

A fantastic example of learning in action while making a positive impact on our local environment. 💚
