Bridgwater & Taunton College Motorsport

Congratulations Mike Wood, and to the team at TF Sport for their win at Le Mans 24 Hour last weekend.

Mike joined Bridgwater College as an adult learner to study Level 3 IMI Motorsport, and then progressed to study Levels 4 and 5 with us at University Centre Somerset (UCS) and graduated in June 2025.

During his Level 4 Mike volunteered to help with TF sport as a work placement. He did 2 years with the team at LeMan on tyres, and this year was promoted to fueling the winning .33 Corvette.

First championship event at Gurston Down Speed Hillclimb this Saturday: a positive couple practice runs in the sun with great student participation. Unfortunately a failure on the cam belt case/engine mount ruled us out of the timed runs and sadly Sunday's event also.
Big thanks to everyone in the paddock for their support to try and get us out for the timed runs. Back to the workshop for repairs ready for next time.

Massive congratulations to our Oxford Brookes Foundation Degree Graduates. Well done on all of your achievements, and wishing you the best of luck with your next steps as Motorsport Engineers.

Sadly, our final round of the season didn't go to plan for us. We dropped an intake valve, resulting in some nasty damage caused to cylinder 1.

Our new HND Motorsport learners have smashed it today, removing both the engine and diff, ready to be rebuilt during the off-season.

Great effort, and great success for our race team yesterday!

We quailfied 4th, and came 3rd in race 1 and 5th in race 2, with 1st in class for both races. We're now sitting in 2nd place overall for the 🏁
