While climbing Mount Kenya on the Strive Challenge this year, we took part in the highest ever Big Education Conversation – which is an initiative developed by Big Change to get people from all parts of society to discuss the purpose of education and create a shared vision for change.

As Aliyah York, the youngest member of the strive team said: "Change starts with a conversation. Whether you are a child, parent, teacher or anybody in-between, you can and should be able to share your experiences of education. Education should be everyone's business.”

Well, what a sad but triumphant day this was. A meeting of the old, less old, young, all bold and wonderful bunch of instructors one could ever wish to call friends. They have been coming to Outposts for many years, as many as 25 which is when we began, around the kitchen table. Initially we ran youth expeditions, believing in the strength and wisdom that can come from travel. They are a great education and the start of exciting discoveries that new people and places, cultures and vistas can inspire. We continued into Outdoor Education in many guises for the young and for adults, using our home as a base as well as many fabulous locations in Wales, Scotland, the New Forest and many more. We built and grew the Outposts Bush Camp, taking pleasure watching all our clients, guided by excellent instructors enhance their lives and gain in experience using outdoor learning and adventure activities. It has been a long , busy , progressive, exciting, sometimes stressful adventure. We have met wonderful people both young and old and wouldn't have missed it for the world. Its now time to start a new chapter and to say thank you to this lot in the photo and so many more who have stood by us, been loyal and trusted friends, innovative and inspiring instructors, and helped us with this life journey on the Quantock Hills and beyond.

I write this on an emotional day. God Bless Queen Elizabeth 2nd, may she rest in peace. God Bless King Charles.

This is such a fabulous and fun introduction to the big outdoors learning basic bushcraft with Steve Bedford and his team. He is a master of his craft and brilliant with people.

Having a great time with amazing pupils at Tiverton high school. 4 days of bushcraft sessions and they are doing really well.

There is always a shady tree to gather under and enjoy time with your friends at Outposts Bush Camp. A walnut tree grown from a walnut from here and planted in the bush camp has matured into a perfect hideout for young people to sit and get on with their business.

All go at the Bush Camp Lodges. Fabulous Summer camp last week and straight into 36 people from group accommodation. Grown ups, teenagers, children and babies all come to enjoy the peaceful surroundings and hot weather.

Outposts love children when they stay at the bush camp and enjoy the wide open spaces available.

Although selection is all about the brilliant candidates, an honourable mention has to go to our staff gun run team who came out on top after a very competitive final day competition!

Grubs up at the bush camp. We welcome CVQO cadets here on their mega selection course at Outposts Bush Camp. Great team effort to create a wonderful, life changing experience for cadets from all services.

Outposts Bush Camp is all set and excited to open for our first big group of the season our loyal clients CVQO are once again using the bush camp and its beautiful surroundings for the CVQO Westminster Award 2022 selection. This is a fabulous Award with a testing selection process and is, for all participants a life enhancing experience. We look forward to hosting them next week.
