Otterhampton Year 6 students have become published authors after they began working with author Andrew Powell-Thomas in the Autumn term on a remembrance project focussed on the village of Otterhampton and the soldiers from there. They researched the names of soldiers on the war memorial and spoke to some of the aging villagers to find out more and talk about what they were researching. The whole project has resulted in a book which was published last week named ‘Otterhampton and Combwich Remembers’ and is a dedication to those that died in major conflicts. The children held a publication party and the local villagers came along for tea and cake and to buy a book (available on Amazon or from local bookshops!).

SS&L started working with Little Beeches in October 2023 when they took on their first apprentice with us & since have taken on 2 more apprentices. Congratulations to Mark

We have been collaborating with local employers to help our secondary schools undertake mock interviews for their Year 10 cohorts this half term.

Students from our four secondary schools on the Aspire programme took to the University of Exeter today for a tour. Inspiring discussions and topical conversations with staff ensued and all have come away thoroughly enthused about university life.

Before Easter we held a bake sale to raise money for Comic Relief, Thank you to everyone that donated to Comic Relief. The Year 8 and 9 Leaders did a fantastic job organising and supporting the events and we raised an incredible £730.37.

Today we chose our new Senior Student Leadership Team for the next year. After a day of interviews, following the application and presentation process before Easter, Archie has been announced as the new Head Boy, with Joe and Ben as Deputy Head Boys. The Assistant Head Boys will be Jack, Will and Leo.
It was a strong field and our senior leaders and outgoing Head Boy deliberated for a long time on these positions, but all of the applicants did themselves proud during this process.
