If you’ve ever wondered why your emotions feel so big, so fast, or so out of control in recovery… this is why.

Addiction doesn’t just affect behaviour.
It changes the brain and the nervous system in ways most people have never been taught.

You’re not “too much.”
You’re not broken.
Your body is trying to protect you.

Learning emotional regulation is one of the most powerful parts of recovery — and it’s absolutely possible to rebuild it.

If you want to know how dialectical behavioural therapy and acceptance commitment therapy help addiction recovery comment “DBT” for your free mini booklet.

These therapies changed my life, and now I use them in my coaching to help others change theirs. 🧡

You don’t have to stay in the version of you that’s barely surviving.
There is a way out. There is a life beyond the chaos. And it starts with one moment of courage.

Today I’m healthy, grounded and free — not because I got “lucky,” but because I learned the emotional, psychological and nervous-system skills that actually support long-term sobriety.

If you’re ready for your own freedom, I want to help you get there.

✨ Comment “FREEDOM” below and I’ll send you the link to book your free discovery call.

Your turning point can start today.🧡

Addiction didn’t just break me… it broke the people who loved me.

These screenshots are from my mum and sister when I asked them to describe me in addiction vs. who I am today.

When you’re in addiction, you don’t see the destruction you’re causing.
You don’t see the fear in your mum’s eyes.
You don’t see the eggshells everyone walks on.
You don’t see the emotional chaos you drag the whole family through.

You just see your own pain.

But recovery doesn’t just heal the addict — it heals the entire family system.
It gives them safety again.
It gives them stability again.
It gives them YOU again.

The shift from “never knowing which version of you would show up”
to
“calm, thoughtful, present”…
That’s what recovery is really about.

If you’re struggling right now, please remember:
You’re not too far gone.
You’re not the person your addiction makes you.
And healing will change more lives than just your own.

If you want support, guidance, or a place to start — my DMs are always open. You don’t have to do this alone. 🧡

Your brain is meant to grow with you — not shrink because of alcohol.
When we talk about “doing damage,” this is what we mean. Long-term drinking doesn’t just affect your mood or your decisions… it physically changes the structure of your brain.

The good news?
Neuroplasticity means you can rebuild. Sobriety gives your brain the chance to heal, strengthen, and come back online in ways you might not have felt in years.

Take this as a reminder:
Your mind is worth protecting. Your future is worth fighting for. 💛

When it comes to sobriety, magic doesn't just happen - you have to put in the work.

It's about rewiring your brain, learning to cope without alcohol, healing past hurts, and building a life that fulfills you.

And then, something amazing happens: cravings transform from irresistible demands to 'I don't even want a drink' - that's the magic 🪄, born from dedication and inner work 🧡

Knowledge is power especially when it comes to alcohol

The more you understand what booze actually does to your brain and body, the easier it becomes to make empowered choices in your recovery. Most people only see the surface-level effects… but the real damage happens quietly underneath, in your hormones, your nervous system, your sleep, your emotions, and your ability to cope.

When you learn the why, everything else starts to make sense.

If you want to dive deeper, comment “learn” and I’ll send you my latest blog breaking down the science of alcohol and how it truly affects you. 🧡

Sometimes the emptiness we feel isn’t a sign that we’re slipping… it’s a sign that we’ve lost touch with ourselves.

Life gets loud. Roles pile up. And before we know it, we’re functioning, not feeling.
I realised the “void” I felt wasn’t about me needing something, it was about forgetting to nurture the version of me beneath all the titles.

So I slowed down.
Reconnected.
Did things with no purpose other than joy.

And it reminded me of this:
When life feels a bit hollow, don’t rush to fill the space with noise or old habits.
Fill it with you.

Your authentic self is often the thing you’ve been missing all along. 🧡🧡
