URGENT NOTICE:

We are currently experiencing issues with our phone lines, meaning we are unable to make/receive external calls. Engineers are currently investigating the issue and we will update everyone once our phone lines are back up and running.

Due to this we are experiencing an large influx of emails, so please bear with us whilst we work through them all.

🎒 YEAR 7 STARTER – YOUR FIRST DAY AT OLDBURY WELLS! 🎉
We can’t wait to welcome new Year 7 students to Oldbury Wells on Wednesday 2nd September!
Here are our 10 top tips to help make your first day as easy (and enjoyable!) as possible:
1️⃣ BRING YOUR EQUIPMENT ✏️
You’ll need your normal school-day equipment. Check your Student Guide if you’re unsure what you need.
2️⃣ NO PE KIT NEEDED! 🏃
You DO NOT need to bring your PE kit on Wednesday. Your first PE lesson will be an induction, and you’ll be told what kit you need for future lessons.
3️⃣ BREAKFAST ON US! 🌯
Our catering team will be giving Year 7 students a FREE breakfast wrap at breaktime. 🎉
Don’t worry if your ParentPay account isn’t activated yet – you can still use the canteen. The cost will be taken from your account once it’s activated.
Packed lunches, snacks and drinks are also fine.
4️⃣ KEEP YOUR STUDENT GUIDE HANDY 📖
Bring your Student Guide with you and keep it safely in your blazer pocket. Staff will be using it during the day.
Don’t have one? Just let your form tutor know.
5️⃣ MOBILE PHONES 📱
You can bring your phone to school, but it must be switched off when you arrive on site.
Your form tutor will explain the mobile phone rules at the start of the day.
6️⃣ TAKE A DEEP BREATH! 😌
Feeling nervous? That’s completely normal!
Remember – you’ve already made a brilliant start. We’re here to support, guide and look after you as you settle into life at Oldbury Wells. 💜
7️⃣ KNOW WHERE TO GO 🚪
🚶 Walking/being dropped off? Enter through the West Reception door.
🚌 Arriving by bus? Mr Williams will meet you on the bus park and guide you to West Reception.
You’ll then be shown to your tutor group.
8️⃣ GET READY FOR THE PHOTO! 📸
Allow a little extra time for that all-important:
“FIRST DAY OF SECONDARY SCHOOL” PHOTO!

If there are any families that have any pre-loved Oldbury Wells uniform that they no longer need, we would fully appreciate these items being donated to help support other families at our school.

If there are any blazers, skirts, trousers, shirts, ties or PE kit items that are still in a good condition, we would love these to be donated.

On Tues 1st September, families are invited to drop off their donations to either East or West Reception in the allocated donation boxes.

⚽💜 Celebrating a Partnership Built on Community, Opportunity and Success ❤️🖤

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the fantastic partnership between Oldbury Wells School and Bridgnorth Spartans FC – the Shropshire Grassroots Football Club of the Year.

This partnership is about so much more than football. It's about inspiring young people, creating opportunities, building confidence and developing the values of teamwork, resilience and respect both in school and in our community.

A huge congratulations to everyone at Bridgnorth Spartans FC on their well-deserved recognition as Shropshire Grassroots Football Club of the Year. It is a fantastic achievement and one that reflects the dedication of the coaches, volunteers, players and families who make the club so special.

We would also like to say a massive well done to all of our Oldbury Wells students who proudly represent both our school and Bridgnorth Spartans FC. Your commitment, determination and sportsmanship are a credit to yourselves, your families, your school and your club. We are incredibly proud of everything you achieve both in the classroom and on the pitch.

The High-5 Campaign – Grand Finale! 🎉
What a fantastic finish to our High-5 Attendance Campaign!
Throughout the half term, students with 100% attendance were entered into our weekly prize draws to win Amazon vouchers, Nike bags, caps, and on special prize days, enjoyed free Tip-Tops as a well-deserved reward!
On the final friday of the summer term we held our final prize draw:

Congratulations to Cooper McNaughton and Lydia Parsons, who achieved 100% attendance in the final week of term and won our runner-up prizes!
🌟 Grand Prize Winner
A huge congratulations to Hadassah Mtemeri, who achieved 100% attendance for the entire half term and walked away with £100 in Amazon vouchers!
👏 Well done to every student who achieved 100% attendance this half term. Your commitment and dedication have been amazing. Thank you for making the High-5 Campaign such a success!
