I fell in love, not in a nightclub dancing, spending or impressing, but during a walk in the woods. Sitting on a fallen tree, watching, listening, reflecting, learning. I fell in love with mother nature

Spring is the best time of year for foraging and an abundance of wild edibles will soon burst into life again. One favourite is wild garlic (allium ursinum) which translates to 'bear onion'. The flowers are easily recognisable but the leaves can be confused with other more harmful plants so go carefully and make positive ID. More posts foraging to follow shortly

Here's the first of my 'Urban Edibles'.

Ivy Leaved Toadflax is a common trailing 'w**d' and I found it on the drive today. It's said to have been originally introduced from Italy to Oxford as seeds in marble sculptures. Hence known as 'Oxford W**d. Has been claimed to have been used to successfully treat diabetes in India.

Leaves are edible and taste like cress.
Caution: Mildly toxic so advised to consume in small quantities.
