Our copy has arrived!!

Did you know a new one was coming out? I didn’t until release day and it was all over my Facebook feed! I had to order both settings one straight away!

Can you guess what our book of the week may be?

🧑🏼‍🍳 Today we have made banana and sultana rolls… the children loved the different steps to this.

Remember it’s about the process and not the end product… we apologise in advance if the children get you to try them and they don’t taste as good as they look…. We tried. 🍌 🍞

💙 They cried when you left this morning… are they still crying now?

With lots of new children joining us at the moment, we know there are probably a few parents walking away from drop-off with a lump in their throat too!

Starting preschool is a big transition, and settling in looks different for every child.

Some wave goodbye without a backwards glance.

Some need a cuddle and a few tears first.

Some are absolutely fine for a week… and then decide they’re not so sure about this preschool business after all! 😂

Our latest blog is all about settling into preschool, saying goodbye and building secure relationships.

We explain what actually happens after you leave, how we comfort children who are upset, why we use visual timelines to help them understand when you're coming back, and why we'll always change our settling-in approach if your child needs something different.

We’ve also included lots of practical ideas for home — from creating a confident goodbye routine to the language you can use when your child is finding separation difficult.

And perhaps the most important message of all:

The goal of settling in isn't “no tears”.

It's helping your child gradually discover:

💙 I can miss you and still be okay.

💙 There are other grown-ups here who will care for me.

💙 This is somewhere I belong.

💙 You always come back.

If you're currently in the thick of preschool settling-in, this one is for you.

And just like that… we’re back! ❤️

After our summer break, the doors opened again on Thursday and Kind Hearts is already full of playing, exploring, chatting, creating and lots of very busy little people!

For some of our children, it was a happy return to familiar faces, favourite toys and old friends. For others, it was the very beginning of their Kind Hearts adventure. 🥰

The first few days back are always about reconnecting, finding our feet and giving everyone the time they need to settle back into our routines.

We've loved hearing about summer adventures, watching friendships pick straight back up where they left off and seeing our children rediscover all the things they love about preschool.

And to all of our new children and families joining us this term — welcome to the Kind Hearts family. ❤️

We think we're going to have a very lovely year together.

👟 Shoes on the wrong feet? Jumper on backwards? Mud still on their face at home time?

Sometimes, that might actually be a sign of a really successful day at preschool. 💙

Our first Kind Hearts blog is live, and we’re starting with something that sits right at the heart of what we do: helping children become confident, capable and increasingly independent.

We talk about why we don’t always rush in to correct backwards clothes or take over when something is tricky, how we support children through disagreements and sharing, why messy play really matters, and some of the language we use to help children learn to problem-solve and speak up for themselves.

There are also lots of simple ideas you can try at home — including different questions to ask when “What did you do at preschool today?” gets the inevitable response…

“Nothing. I played.” 😂

Because sometimes learning looks like counting and building.

Sometimes it looks like negotiating over a digger.

And sometimes it looks like a very proud three-year-old wearing two shoes on the wrong feet. 🥰
