💙👨‍👧‍👦 Father’s Day at Bright Sparks Preschool 👨‍👧‍👦💙

This week, our children have been celebrating Father’s Day and learning about the special people in their lives and the important roles they play.

The children enjoyed creating Father’s Day cards, making special keepsakes, exploring creative activities, and taking part in discussions about their families. Through role play, stories, songs, and rhymes, they developed their communication, language, and social skills while sharing their own experiences and memories.

Our activities also supported the development of independence and fine motor skills, with opportunities for mark-making, crafting, and practical tasks throughout the week.

We hope all the wonderful dads, grandads, stepdads, uncles, and special male role models have a lovely Father’s Day and enjoy the thoughtful gifts created by the children. ⭐

🌊🐟 Ocean Week at Bright Sparks Preschool 🐟🌊

This week, our children have been exploring the wonderful world beneath the waves during Ocean Week! Through sensory activities, creative play, and hands-on investigations, the children learned about sea creatures and the animals that live in our oceans.

The children enjoyed exploring ocean-themed sensory trays, sea animal activities, fishing games, creative artwork, and discussing what lives under the sea. They also took part in music, songs, movement, and yoga activities, helping to develop their listening skills, coordination, confidence, and imagination.

We were also excited to visit our local library, where the children enjoyed sharing stories, exploring books, and developing a love of reading. Library visits are a fantastic way to support language development, communication, and early literacy skills.

It has been a fun-filled week of learning, discovery, and adventure, and we are so proud of all the children for their enthusiasm and participation! ⭐

👗✨ Fashion Week ✨👗

A little look back at our fabulous Fashion Week! The children had so much fun exploring fashion, colours, textures and creativity through a range of exciting activities. They designed their own outfits, created jewellery and accessories, enjoyed our very own nail salon and took part in a fantastic photoshoot.

We also explored different fabrics and enjoyed lots of imaginative role play in our dress-up area. The week provided plenty of opportunities for the children to express themselves, build confidence and celebrate their individuality.

Alongside all the fashion fun, we practised the letter Vv, developed our communication and confidence skills, and learnt the Makaton sign for “sit down.”

🌍 Our Planet Week 🌍

A little look back at our wonderful Our Planet topic! The children explored how we can care for the world around us through a range of hands-on activities, including sensory play, creative planet-themed artwork and learning about the world we live in.

Throughout the week, we learned about different countries, where we come from, and the importance of looking after our environment. The children enjoyed exploring the natural world, talking about ways we can help our planet and taking part in activities that encouraged curiosity and care for the world around us. 💚

Alongside this, we practised the letter Ff, shared stories and songs about our world, and developed our understanding of how we can all play a part in protecting our planet for future generations.

🐾 National Pet Week 🐾

A little look back at our fun during National Pet Week! The children enjoyed exploring different animals and learning about how we care for pets. Through stories, role play, creative activities, songs and discussions, we talked about kindness, responsibility and the different needs of animals. We also practised our phonics with the letter Aa and learnt the Makaton sign for “drink.”

The children loved sharing their experiences of pets and discovering more about the animals around us! 🐶🐱🐰🐠

“A bittersweet update from Bright Sparks 💛

We would like to wish Helen a very happy retirement and thank her for her many years of dedication, support, and care — she will be greatly missed by both staff and children.

We are also delighted to welcome back Hali, our Deputy Manager, from maternity leave and are so happy to have her back as part of our team!”
