What if you could hold your favourite home in your hands? 🤔

Ceramic artist Alice Mara returns to the studio for a four-day workshop, guiding students as they create realistic models of their own homes or buildings they love using slab-building techniques and photographic transfers.

Scroll to see the finished pieces come to life.✨

The workshop is split into two parts. In the first two days, students will construct their building using slab techniques, working from reference images and guided demonstrations covering structure and architectural details such as chimneys, bay windows, and balconies. After firing and glazing, students will return four weeks later to apply photographic transfers, bringing their pieces to life and exploring additional forms and styles.

✨Easy and flexible payment options available.✨

15th - 16th October and 12th - 13th November | 4 Day
Workshop | £1,100
Level - All levels welcome

The attention to detail on this crab sculpture by Caroline in our sculpture course is incredible.

Every curve, texture, and tiny feature has been carefully crafted, with beautifully chosen glazes that really bring it to life. 🦀

We’re obsessed with how realistic it looks.✨

A look back at a fantastic week of making with Richard.✨

Throughout the workshop, students refined their throwing skills, explored altering forms into oval, square and asymmetric shapes, created larger vessels by joining sections, and experimented with handles, trimming and coloured slips.

Swipe for a glimpse of the making, the moments and the beautiful work created throughout the week.

Meet our studio cooks.✨

Over the past few months, our guest potter workshops have been made even more special thanks to our talented cooks, who have been creating delicious, colourful two-course meals for our guests.

We’ve been so lucky to enjoy such a wonderful variety of food at the studio, and we can’t wait to see what dishes are still to come.

A huge thank you to our amazing cooks. You do a brilliant job in the kitchen, and we’re so grateful for everything you bring to the studio.🩵

Jamie is normally the one behind the camera, capturing everyone else’s creations, but this time he’s stepped into our feed with a project of his own.

Having not touched clay since primary school, Jamie started building this fishing boat at the studio with no previous pottery experience, skills or knowledge just a can-do attitude and the willingness to try.

The idea for the boat first came during a trip to Italy in 2023, when Jamie spotted a model boat and thought, “Why don’t I make a fishing boat? I’ll give it a go and make it up along the way.”

Every Thursday evening, Jamie has been working away, figuring things out as he goes, learning through the process and enjoying the small detail work that brings the boat to life.

Sometimes you just need an idea and a can-do attitude to begin.

You’ve heard of the book and the film... now here’s a beautiful sculpture inspired by The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse.

Created by our talented student Ushi, during her sculpture course at the studio, this piece has been a joy to watch come to life. From each stage of sculpting, refining and finishing, it’s been wonderful to see her vision take shape bringing this much-loved story and its characters to life.✨

Swipe through to see her journey from start to finish, it really is a wonderful example of what’s possible with time and patience.🩵
